Just WOW. Back late yesterday...So many interesting cars, in paddock and more in car park, camp sites and owners clubs. Everything from a Jensen FF (how did they afford the fuel?) to a Maserati Bora (didn't sell at auction), I offered to take it off their hands if they paid for the transport but they were sniffy. At our Maserati dinner a Ghibli set on fire and the power failed so we had to drink gallons of champagne before it got warm. Such stories such memories a defo bucket list thing.

I can only echo your comments. I've been to the 24 many times, but this was in a different league for me - so much interesting and varied metal everywhere. Great memories!

You definitely spend more time at the track and the great British welcome has some amazing old motors normally. The car clubs zre pretty well supported too.

I certainly lost some more hearing when the Group C racers started! Some really fun track action from fearsome Porsches and Ferraris to Old Number 3 Bentley now aged 92 and still going strong. What I loved was being able to go and see them close up in the paddock. At the 24 itself you don't get that closeness. Definitely a better class of drunk too. (hic...).

Back from this 2 days ago (turned it into a bit longer holiday). First time for me in Le Mans, very impressed. More watching the racing than I expected with the group I was with, was expecting more beer drinking / not leaving the campsite lol. Night racing on the Friday, watching, listening to the V8s power through the misty dark with brake discs glowing was mesmerising.
Not much sleep on Saturday due to being in a tent right next to Porsche Curves with the racing being literally through the night lol

Big shout out to Travel Destinations, their set up with pre erected event tents within the circuit (that stayed cool), proper beds etc was great, decent food & beer on site at better prices than the event proper. Good viewing spots within their sites too, could watch the racing & drink their superior, beer without even leaving their site.

Opposite of a shout out to the event itself for: watery Carlsberg at Euro10 for a plastic pint being the only beer available at all outlets throughout, and 20 Euros for a crappy baguette in places. Total lack of buses or transport to get around (we were advised there'd be shuttle buses around the circuit and to Arnage - there werent).

But it was great- epic in scale, car clubs were massive.

Ace drives to and from Le Mans, arrived from La Rochelle in South and left North to Honfleur after, didn't have a clue where the good roads were but slammed "no tolls" into Google maps and took our chances, it worked a dream, fast swoopy A roads with very little on them, plenty of overtaking places, haven't been able to stretch the legs of the 4200 like that in ages, and top fun tangling with my mates' Elise.

Anyone from here with the Martini stickered Granturismo on the Travel Destinations site? I meant to speak but we never bumped.

Right up for next year now, will hopefully make it to Arnage next time & a proper effort to meet up with some of you.
