About as close as you’ll get to a Maserati hot hatchback, and about as close as I’ll get to owning a Maserati.
Anyway, did Meguiar’s Day In The Bay with Modern Classics today, and she’s never looked as good. And I’ve never seen so many of her paint blemishes!

Anyway if you’ve any questions...

Love the GTAs I had a 1.6 147 when they came out. Always looked at them in the showroom when mine went in for a service.

At today’s prices I reckon you could have a QP and some change from a decent GTA.

For the price I paid for the GTA, I could buy a QP5, a 3200 or a 4200. But that would be the easiest bit, because any Maserati for six grand would invariably require multiples of the original price to put right or spanner-wielding skills I just don’t have...

Looking good.

A GTA is a perfect stepping stone to a Maserati, one because it’s an alfa, and two because you’re already pre-conditioned to sub 20 mpg, it’s not too much difference!

Great cars though, still enjoy driving mine.

How long ago was that? I’ve not seen one that cheap for a while.

Yeah, got lucky when I saw it many years ago. But having said that, the 147GTA is one of those cars which looks great in all the colours to me, a sign of a great design. I’d have been happy with any colour though, even the ultra rare pale green metallic!

A friend of mine bought a 4200 for six grand recently, and I’ve seen project QPs and 3200s for that figure.

The QPIV Evo for six grand was tempting a few weeks ago...

147 GTA is one of those Alfas that I just keep missing, pretty much sure i will have one day as they almost tick the family hatchback box although I might get seduced by a 156 SW GTA

Ah I see, there are a few high miles GTAs about, and there are a lot of grim ones about. The best are £16k and beyond; there’s a lovely blue one at AlfaAid at the mo

They’ve had that for sale for almost two years. I spoke to them about it but decided have two saloon type cars was a bit excessive.

I know someone who bought a 4200 for much less than that even
