My Baby is Back

Beautiful blue sky in London and unbroken sunshine as I drove this morning to HR Owen. Ferraris and Maserati by the dozen littering the forecourt.

Went into reception to be offered a black coffee whilst my bill was presented to me (whisky might have been more apt)

Anyways cost me what I thought it would cost me. Annual service, 4 gleaming rejuvenated wheels, new front tyre, new F1 relay, new shock cover. I closed my eyes as I pressed enter on the credit card machine and whoosh £1500 or so was transported from my depleted account into a bulging HR Owen account.

I then drove my gleaming clean Maserati over to the Ace Cafe, parked up and had three fried eggs on toast. This was a dress rehearsal for Thursday meeting.

The car looks brand new and drives 100% perfectly. HR Owen gave it a clean bill of health claiming it was one of the best they have seen.

Do I want to get rid of it???????? Not so sure now. At HR Owen it was probably the least common car there being out numbered even by F40's and Enzos.

Well considering it was a London main dealer I feel I have got away relatively unscathed.

Coning up for 2 years ownership in June. I have done 4,000 miles and it has cost me

Refurbish two wheels in July 2009 300-00

Service last year plus loads of warranty work 1900-00

Service this year plus wheels and tyre 1500-00

Insurance for period estimate 1500-00

Depreciation estimated 5,000-00

Fuel estimate 2,000-00

Total Cost of ownership £12,200-00

0r to put it simply £3-05 per mile .................OUCH

Using your equation Urby, mine has cost me a shocking £41K in my 3.25 years of ownership. This is mainly driven by depreciation, the larini's and fuel, as it's my daily driver.

Happily the smile per mile has only cost me 91 pence, so I guess the more you drive them, the more the costs make sense (sorta)
