Nice work Iain. You'll be welcome back when you pop back into a Strad after your mid life crisis subsides! Or maybe by then Maserati will have shocked us with a 550bhp Alfieri for under 100k.

Or maybe pigs will fly.

Lovely car Iain, well done going for it! How does it feel? If it doesn't feel spooky you're probably not pressing the right peddle enough :)

Take it slow, for a while at least.

I pick it up in 48 hours!
It will be interesting to drive it. The only test drive I had in one I was a little spaced out as I didn’t really think I was going to buy one. All the reviews I have read and watched and everyone I have spoken to has owned or driven one just says they are epic. I don’t think they are a midlife crisis car- I think they are the epitomy of supercars for anyone from 18-60 who is mad Enough to buy one!

Well collection day was not a let down, Greypaul exhibited good customer service as usual. After keeping me talking and doing paperwork for what seemed like an age and trying to sell me the next car! - they finally removed the covers.

The portofino they had just got in looked fantastic and I have to say sounded really good too. I think they have nailed that in regards to aggressive design, performance, and the semblance of two back seats to pacify wives everywhere.

I was hoping to pop in to see a couple of forum members on the way , but I was there longer than expected and the traffic was awful.

My first impressions of the 458 are :O - using launch out of the toll booths was an experience in itself. Its definitely a lot of money though, and I couldn't help thinking, even looking at the amazing details, exposed engine, thrilling noise and performance- that it would be nice to have two 'Strad sized' back seats. I am going to enjoy owning this - hopefully for a long while, but I will always have a 4 seater strad and a Centennial Cab in the back of my mind.

Would love to hear from some current and previous owners to see if they have any tips on how to enjoy it to the max, and limit future issues!

Very very nice....well done and enjoy. Great choice of colour with the yellow callipers as well. Quite a rare colour as most I have seen are red, white or grey. Doesn't seem to be many blacks or blues I have seen.

Lovely, enjoy
Thankyou guys. I am still hunting for a daily- so this is my DD at the moment. I think it’s fair to say I got the purchase order the wrong way around!! Anyone who has a reliable 4 door auto black or gunmetal golf or similar available please let me know!

A friend of mine (and fellow Maserati owner) is about to list an auto black golf. It's done 90k miles and will be £5k. Reliable and cheap workhorse. PM if interested.
