Chaps,

I am after a pair of rear phonic rings for my 3200, but Eurospares are showing out of stock (and silly money!) and the other source I've tried says they are no longer obtainable.

So... looking at what they are I can't believe (again) there's anything special about them and found this outfit:
http://www.reluctorrings.com/

Now the questions is does anybody have the dimensions of the current rings on our cars to see if there's a match on another make/model.. or so that we can get these guys to make them and add them to their stock options?

Cheers

Once again Greg at PPCP to the rescue. He has one good one available that he's sending through so I can send it to the people above for re-manufacture.

Fingers crossed sensible priced Phonic rings to be available :)

Will do. Spoke to the guys today and they said to send on in and they'll duplicate them. Should have some news early next week.

Bought mine from main dealer, who ordered from italy. Cost more in special delivery postage than parts. How much were you charged?

Eurospares part number 387200375 now £85. Sure I did not have to pay that much ??

Rob,

Eurospares are indeed £85+VAT+Delivery and are special order from Italy..

I don't have a price for the "copies" yet, but they average about £35+VAT per ring and do discounts for quantity purchases.

As soon as they have them ready I'll respond back with prices...

OK chaps,

The guys I've linked to above are now making the Phonic rings for the Maserati 3200 :)

The price is £51.80 and that includes VAT and delivery, which is around half the price that Maserati want now for them.

They do discounts for purchases of 6 or more.. if anybody wants to organise a group/forum buy.

Cheers

Great news.
Removing is easy enough, saw almost through and split off with chisel
They take a bit of fitting though - big hammer and a big old scrap bearing did mine.

What do you do Rob, carefully just wack them back on the driveshaft, no heating up...

Hi when I fitted mine I just tapped the old one off with a hammer and chisel,I then put the new one in the oven for 20 minutes then picked it up with a pair of pliers and it slipped straight back over the drive shaft no need for a hammer.

Chaps,

There's a video on the website showing how to change the rings.. and indeed, wack them in the oven before trying to put them on.

As I was the first to order, and provide the template sample, they're doing me a better deal therefore my 2 won't count towards the start of the discounts.

Therefore does anybody else want to take up the mantle of collating the orders to submit along with their own??

Cheers

Sure, I don't mind.

So far;

Contigo - 2
Bilko - 2
Macaroni - 2

@ £51.80 including VAT & delivery.
Is there a minimum order needed to get that price?
Is there a threshold above which is gets lower?

Hi Antony,

The £51.80 was for a single ABS ring. Over the phone he said he would discount above 6.. On their website they show pricing breaks at over 9, and then over 20.

The owners name is Gavin and his email address is gmoss@exmol.com
Website is http://www.reluctorrings.com/

Cheers

I'll get on it today.

Simon will be asking around for a March SE meet soon, are you up for that?

Hmmmm.. I wonder if these may be the cause of my intermittant brake warning light? ( No "it's because it's a 3200" jokes please!) Shouldn't harm to change them out.
