I was waiting for him to tip that hoist over

And me, the bit where he jacked one side up to get it over the lip on his garage floor had me wincing.

Also, I’ve never taken an engine out, is it OK to stand it on it’s sump like that? I’d be worried about knocking it over.

He’s doing better than Jack/No27 though. A deathtrap Elise and a week trying to remove the cylinder head on the Influenzo didn’t look great.

Should be fine on the sump. Why didn’t he just put it in the trolley and take that to the garage? I never move engines about on the hoist.

Have either of them heard of overalls or boots?

Oh yeah poor old jack. He does seem to do things the hard way.

Ach, that’s the trouble with the UK now. It’s all Health and Safety.

:)

I enjoy watching it and will enjoy seeing that car going once again. Hats off to him.

Captain calamity. He’s just bought a cat reg lotus Elise and it’s absolutely knackered. Can’t wait to see how he gets on with the heads on the 308
I quite enjoy watching Jack and The Influenzo. He's completely open and honest.

You see his wins, his failures, his mistakes, his frustrations with the car and also with himself.

He definitely is a league above my useless level of knowledge. But he's very relatable, due to the fact that he's learning as he goes.

Definitely prefer it to the over the top drama that you tend to get from US Channels.

He makes me whince a lot! if he spent half as much time doing a proper job as he does fannying for the camera they’d make a lovely job of it.

Some of its common sense. Do sketchy stuff when you haven’t got another option but why have a trolley and not use it or the bit where he spends 5 minutes chatting to the camera with the engine dangling over the back end of the car. Great for film, will make a lovely engine sized hole in the chassis if it drops. Find me anyone who’s used an engine hoist and not turned the valve the wrong way at some point

I like him. Just a normal bloke, giving it a go.
Though given I’ve never even changed the oil on a car, I’m easily impressed!

Is this what we can expect the finished engine to look like?

I notice on the Ferrari website, their white 512BBi has the lower half of the body painted black. I reckon it looks better all white.

On reflection maybe that is silver and black?

Just watched the one where he finds he has a cracked head and he is going to remove it in a single domestic garage.
I have subscribed as he is actually watchable for me.
