This was just up the road from me and is an annual event in the Surrey Hills and yours truly applied to enter it and was accepted.

So I need sponsors, pit crew, brolly dollys (preferably female!) and an x-pipe...

It's on the 5th September and should be a laugh....

Many a happy time at the White Horse in Shere... used to take all my dates there when I lived in Surrey. Went a little down hill at the start of the 2020s... anyone know what it's like now?

Oh, I meant to enter this also (obviously missed it!) - I went a few years back and its a fun event. Happy to assist, not quite a brolly dolly though

I'm in your crew. I have amazing legs so I could brolly dolly... or shall we go with what autoincorrect suggested: "belly dolly!" :D

Hijacking and recycling my own thread from last year to say that I've been accepted again for the Shere Hill Climb on the Sunday 4th September.

It's a good day out, seeing all types of car going up the hill, from 40/50s hot rods, classic British sports cars to some idiot in a Granturismo. Everyone who goes, appreciates what you've got and are happy to chat about them.

The track itself is Staple Lane off the A246 near East Clandon. It has a nasty bump which is a challenge not to lift going over it but the rest of it quite straightforward. The organisers do say that the speed limit still applies but no one has put batteries in the speed gun or even remembered to bring the speed gun.

If theres any interest, I can have a word to see if we can have a SportsMaserati parking Area. It will be on a field but perfectly fine.

There used to be a cycling hill climb race there too (at least one of the roads in the area) - I was ladies champ!

Yours truly at 187.

Just noticed that a 4200CC is going up too at 141

I did it last year, and it's great fun. A lot of different cars and types of petroleum craniums.

There's a nasty bump on the first straight that can.upset the car before you have to turn right. It's a challenge to keep your foot on the gas before braking for the turn. I'm determined to overcome the temptation to lift.

We'll walk it for you when staying in Forest Green next week ;) - don't think its the route used for two-wheeled pedlars back in the day

Drove the route yesterday (assuming it starts from the 248/6?) - pretty run but lumpy bumpy road - I think the suspension on my 02 spyder would complain if I went up in anger! - so good luck to you and the the 4200.
