So, my new car is here.

Some of you already know about it because I was so excited that I couldn't keep it to myself! I loved my Stradale and would urge anyone to buy one and see what it's all about however mine "only" had 2 seats and with 2 young kids and a wife who wants to go on a Euro road trip or two, this in the end became an issue for me. I'd still have a 2 seater Stradale over a 4 seater if carrying the family is not a consideration. I'm super pleased that Zep has her now as I know he will look after her. Sad, but that makes me happy!

For me, the only car in the past few years, along with the Stradale, that I have aspired to owning is what I have bought! I really don't want anything else, even if the Euromillions came in.

The car is quite late (64) and has one of the highest options specs every ordered. In this case a whopping £65k (yes, that's right!) of options over standard. Many are not important to me however for resale and future value, they can be very important. In fact, I have learned that there are options that cars must have or the main dealers won't buy them so if you want to get one - any model - you really need to get a handle on what a target car must have.

Being a purveyor of deluxe man maths calculations, the presence of 3 more services included and a 2 year, comprehensive factory warranty means that she should not cost the earth to maintain for the next wee while.

Shout out to Graypaul Edinburgh who have been great to deal with. The car has been perfectly prepared including a fresh service, new windscreen (what is it with me and windscreens?), geometry and a proper detail. They missed the delivery date after a minor issue during service and couldn't have apologised more. They even gave me a nice Jo Malone gift for the Missus to apologise. Really, the service is on a different level and Maserati are so far behind them on this.

I'm being careful so far but can tell already that it's on a different planet, or even galaxy, performance wise. I suppose that a 660bhp 6.3 V12 that does 208mph should be !! Also, it's dual clutch so they don't break and you can actually use the launch control button ! I'm pleased in a way not to have to think about whether the clutch will lunch itself Maserati style. Apparently the only issue they have is flat batteries which is dealt with by the supply of a new battery conditioner with every car. They also supply an indoor cover, including seat and steering wheel covers. No hint of trying to charge for these. "We want you to look after it so that when you trade it in, it's in good condition and we can sell it again". See what I mean about customer services?

Anyway, some pics although they're not great and I will get better ones when I get a chance. Sorry for Garry being in a photo and also sorry for Garry's Panamera being in there with it's Miami wheels!

That is what I intend to get eventually.
Congratulations! It's a thing of beauty and I love that interior.
Please please keep us updated with your experience with the FF. Looking forward to more pics and notes.

Well done mate. I've only even seen one in red before, but that black makes it look proper menacing. Enjoy that noise!

I'm waiting for the print out the options from the dealership but here are some of them. You don't want to know how ridiculous the prices are for each! I'm pleased to have them and even more pleased that I didn't pay £65k for them! You'll see a carbon theme!

Panoramic sunroof
Carbon fibre driving zone (fancy steering wheel with silly lights on it)
Carbon dash inserts
Carbon air vent surround
Carbon rev counter surround
Carbon paddles
Carbon door handles
Carbon centre bridge
Carbon cup holder
Carbon rear bridge
Carbon sill plates
Headrest TVs
TV tuner
Diamond stitched seats
Red stitching
Red carpets
Red seat belts
Passenger Display
Upgrade Hi-Fi
Auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors
Diamond cut wheels
Red calipers
Carbon centre caps
Carbon exterior door handles
Rear wiper
Reverse camera
Metallic paint
Auto boot open/close
Scuderia shields
Cavallinos in red stitching
Boot lining in red carpet and black alcantara

I've now run out of the will to type but you get the drift. Many options, all of them too expensive!

Looks stunning. I know a chap who has a black F12 and absolutely loves the engine and the noise. He has a 675LT (which he's kept) and was all set to get a 720S until he drove the F12. That is his entry price to an 812 Superfast!

That is sublime, Athol, very well done. The carpets are a wonderful flash of colour, as well. You must be glad that the guy who spec'd that originally had exquisite taste. God knows what would have happened if you'd been let loose with a configurator!

I'm mindful that the local wrong 'un has popped in the third photo. Watch yourself. He looks the sort who'd get locked in your car. Or stuck in a shower cubicle. Or would fall asleep on a sofa after a mix-up related to diet and non-diet tonic water.

Anyway, well done again. I look forward to seeing how easy it is to replace the windscreen again, probably in the second half of June 2019.

PS - I also look forward to learning what Mrs Athol thinks of the passenger info read-out display thingy. Is there a setting that automagically divides all figures in half before displaying them to a nervous audience..?

Like FFs a lot and would like to see one in my garage in future. That’s a very lovely example. Particularly like the lift the red carpets, belts and stitching give the interior.

I knew, but hadn’t seen all the pictures. Looks stunning Athol, many congratulations. That’s sounds like a congratulatory message sent when having a child, which wouldn’t be as much of an achievement as buying an FF; well done you.
