Stratos Kit - needs a buff ...

The good thing about this one is that it already registered so there is no need for an IVA test. Once it has been rebuilt, it should just need an MOT and then it's ready to go.
Obviously there is a lot of work to be done as it has been sat outside, uncovered for 10 years but if it is not too far gone, what an exciting father & son type project this would be - if I had either, maybe I would be jumping at the chance

what a shame it stood like that, no story with the add, seems in reasonably good condition considering and would be a nice winter project

How old are you Stuart? I am available to fill either role on the basis that you bring the experience and I am the padawan.

I grew up near Mallory Park and I regret that I spent none of my youth tinkering with cars or bikes. Both this and the Maserati kit you highlighted recently both look like wonderful projects. Build for yourself and not worry about the purists.

As you say the fact it is already registered means it is a re-commissioning and not an IVA-battle. I considered a Q-plate GT40 in the late 90s at £13.5k. It had a V6 engine, UN1 gearbox and the Q-plate stigma at that time all led me to feel it was not worth it. Q-plates are so rare these days that I look at this and think why not.

Even if that Lancia 4 banger is too far gone, a great opportunity to swap out for a V6.

At £10k it looks a relative bargain, if it reached £20k+ it loos less so. I wonder what it will fetch.

Not a project, but a lot of car for the money:

Weren't they made in Bolton at one time? I remember my auntie living near their building (a mill) on Kirkebrok Road.

Yes, I was watching the auction as it ended yesterday evening - it jumped by £8k in the last hour or so, lots of very good interest and hopefully will get to this one finished and on the road again soon

At that price where I do not regret not bidding for it as I would not have done it justice and £19k was too much. For only £11k more, there is an Ultima Sports (the predecessor to the GTR) on eBay.

As you say, no doubt in the hands of someone who will get it finished which is the main thing.

Scant on detail and unclear how much off the mechanicals will actually be used (remember the Scorpio or Granada-based kits that seemed to just use suspension components), but it has some credibility if Ant Anstead is involved:

What MX-5 do you have? I have no skills, so the only way this would be possible is if I was one of the 10 people (or teams) who will build their kit in a weekend under Ant's supervision.

have mk2 mx5 1.8 with LSD. Currently road legal and used for track days too. Recent visit to the wall at Brands Hatch has reduce the road appeal :D

now that's one kit i wouldn't mind building and looks like a lot of thought has gone in to it, love the chassis, with all the chapters and if you're hands on could perhaps get it completed for perhaps sub 20k and fairly swiftly, bugger, i'm actually quite tempted
