Hey Gabs... I'm actually going to come to this one and quite looking forward to it (been a no show at quite a few this year)

It is purely a display for us. The day itself includes a vehicle display, charity track ride alongs in exotic cars and some race or drift cars. There is also an autocross(?) Style small coned off circuit which anyone can have a go on foe a charity contribution but this is mostly small agile cars I.e. mx5's but id love to see someone throw a 400bhp 2 ton maserati around it ;)

The entire day is hosted by the Stroke association

We may have a go in the Alfa Spider. It's relatively nimble though I'm not ;)

Its certainly a Good Day if you get the chance and Coombe is a Great circuit if you have never driven it and all for a Good Cause.

Hi Guys, I have been in touch with Richard (the event organiser) he invited me to be one of the cars on the circuit together with a Ferrari 488 GTB taking passengers for their racing experience. I am gutted that at this time I had to refuse it as I can’t justify to put the GS over 2.5/hrs of 90% racing pace. I volunteered to help on the day, and if there will be the necessity I will be on hand to take some slots during the day, but I can’t do the full day schedule which amounts for the 2.5/hrs at high speed pace. So, are we doing a convoy from around London?

Andy, my good friend Dan Ludlow will be there in his ex Synchro motorsport civic and MG rover on track for the day, I would normally attend but will be away enjoying the sunshine in Lanzarote, if you see him say hello as his company done all the re bushing on the GS. Good guy if you need any engineering work.

Sorry the Maserati is not going to be back from repairs in time. I will attend in the Aston. Will it be OK if I join you and park right on the end of G3 or G6?

Is anyone going to Llandow and this event could collect my rear forum discs from Conaero?

Thanks

Hi Guys n’Dolls.

Latest squeal from Amy on behalf of the organisers:

"Fingers crossed the weather looks ok for next Saturday. Gates will open from 9am to the public so please can you aim to be in place prior to that. When you arrive my colleague Hayley will be around – if you need help finding your parking spaces please phone her on 07720 364 420. If you can either give your £5 per car to her when you see her to come into the Strawford Centre and give it to one of the team wearing purple. I am going to try and put up signs on the Friday night so it should be clear where your car club needs to park.

The passenger rides on track registration will open from 9am and will be done from the Strawford Centre. The Bristol Motor Club will be running their Autosolo event throughout the day. We have Stand against Speed and Wessex 4 x 4 with a small cars and track for children. We will be holding a raffle throughout the day for £1 you can be in a chance to win a lucky dip ride in a car. We will do a draw at 11am and 1pm."

Go for it Mr Muppet, we need a ‘Servizio Corse ‘ vehicle for any localised emergency I.e. a vital need to cook some burgers/sausages etc. or polish the car.
I suggest you park near the fence parallel with the track which is what I intend to do to hide the bad side of the GTV.
I have 2 fire extinguishers onboard ‘Just in case’

Don’t let them persuade you to skip the 3 familiarisation laps as we all know how treacherous the ‘Combe grip can be and it was one of the factors apart from stupidity in my ‘adventure’ last year!

For anyone interested in the slalom I have attached a plan of the course.
I have to say that it can heat up the power steering fluid which is why I added slick 50 in the GTV system after my runs a couple of years ago!

Well. all looking good at the moment I will post anything else you need to know that comes up before the event. :)

The hand is almost there, but I’m not sure I can fix and MOT the 164 in time, and I have a number of jobs I’ve been intending to do for a while so she is of the road at least until spring

Merc it will have to be unfortunately- if I stick the BBQ in could I get on our stand as the catering van?:p

Until my car had safely returned from Germany and the 20th Anniversary event I wasn't sure I could commit - not sure what I was worried about - only 1800 miles in 4 days in a reliable 3200! Please add me to the list

OH! drat it, bother and dash etc.
!"£$%^ & *()_!"£$% & %$£"!

The trendy supercharger whine that started coming from the engine yesterday is the top idler pulley bearing on the GTV cambelt drive.
Daren't use it in that condition in case it totally fails and derails the cam drive - so can't get to 'Combe on Saturday as the British car is not MOT'd :( :(

Sorry chaps, hope it's a good un :) and someone posts some pix after the event.

I'll keep you posted if there is any more from the organisers .
