On Wednesday last week my business partner discovered that someone had violently sh1t in the middle of the driveway in front of the gates to our building. I'm assuming this is related to the pubs being open again.

None the less, a very strange thing to do. Cameras have since been installed to cover that area. In the hopefully unlikely event that it happens again at least we'll be able to share on the local FB page to give the person the fame they deserve

Hello everyone!

The pub next to our boathouse has so much outside riverside seating and I'm actually getting my crews to not go down the river as far as the pub as I don't feel safe on the towpath as the punters are spilling out and are totally trolleyed. It's not nice.
As for MLC's suggestion of unplanned pregnancies... my good friend who's a maternity sonographer is astounded at how many extra pregnancies she's scanning, and them being ones with mums coming in for a scan with the nearers older sibling still feeding off her breasts!

In other news:
  • I found out yesterday that I'm covid-antibody positive. I've definitely been an asymptomatic case and have no idea when it would have been! I've also been receiving at least monthly PCR testing since October, all of which have been negative. I suspect it was before my regular testing started, which is interesting that the antibodies have stuck around for long enough in high enough concentration to still be detectable.
  • I took delivery of my new Concept 2 Dynamic Erg rowing machine yesterday. I love it! It fits better in my living room to hold my head in the listening position for my stereo as the whole machine is shorter than the regular Model D; if rowed properly, your body should also hardly move. It feels so much more like a real boat and requires more concentration and better technique.

Good bits of kit them Concept rowing machines. I was taught how to use one properly by a guy I used to work with who rowed for Slovenia at the European championships many moons ago (in the early 2000's). And I remember him saying that your head should hardly move if you are rowing properly.
The only thing you will need is a nice mat to put it on, as by god they make you sweat!

I remember having a race with him to 5000m he gave me a 1000m headstart and still beat me by a good 2-300metres and I thought I was fit at the time!

Hahaha! Yeah, and international should whop your *** under those conditions! He'd also be rowing actually properly... but he'd have taught you to at least not waste effort or injure yourself.
Take a look at the Dynamic version... different kettle of fish to the regular ones (like the ones around when he showed you what to do). It was interesting ordering it as Concept 2 really make an effort to prevent people buying the Dynamic unless they are for on-water athletes.

Well, now I'm reading this, instead of doing my VAT

He said I would do well in the juniors! I was about 25 or 26 at the time!

Will look at rowers when I get the man cave/gym built.

Morning all from Leeds with a couple of hours repairs to do here and then off to Grimsby to finish jet washing there. I believe then we are heading home.

Have fun all...

Good morning everyone, last day off. More mooching around. Waiting for electricians to return calls for a rewire. You'd think that it would be a big enough job for them to chase.
