Apparently events in France are planned to go ahead but with a max of 5,000 spectators, all of whom must be seated.

I'm 100% up for Le Mans even if the race itself isn't 100% up for us. Fingers crossed we'll be allowed in.

We have a planned euro tour in Sept, but the fear of restrictive covid measures in 5 different countries is a real issue... do I really want to spend all that money if I'm still walking around a hot country with a sodding face mask?

Most of Europe are c3/4 months behind us with vaccine and as the end of June is our target makes me think post Sept at least for holidays like previous years.

Who are you calling normal? Bloody offensive, you are. How rude.

Anyway, only in sporadic outbursts. Much of the trip is more like a tranquil spa break, with meditation sessions, healing crystals and yoga. Dem is famous for his downward dog(ging).

You missed out the spiritual side. On previous trips there were prayer sessions at the shrine of the porcelain Gods. Where offerings of part digested food and excess alcohol were deposited before being cleansed with the water of life and the paper of andrex.

Although i never took part in the spiritual side of the trip there are many tales of the ones that did. :as003::aquarius::worried1::aquarius::D

You missed the annual ceremony of the Felling of the Capes, a pagan ritual that celebrates the triumph of certainty and determination over one man's capacity for alcohol.

ACO are saying nowt formally until early April. I’m in a local accom owners group with much bigger fish like Lycian Events who do the big camping and catering site on the Porsche curves so it’s a very big financial commitment for them and they have to plan well ahead, so always one of the first to know,

General consensus amongst that group however is that as it’s 250k+ visitors most years, it’s a no-go in 2021. 24H will go ahead behind closed doors again as it’s an FIA championship event and there is TV sponsorship to help pay. The classic is not a proper race and no TV so will be cancelled and back to the usual agenda from 2022 as no fans mean very little revenue to run it.

Hope I’m wrong as I have accom to sell that has cost me a fortune with all the bills and no income last year. French govt told me to poke it for a grant as I’m a Rost Beuf and shouldn’t be buying up their property ;-)

What do you think are the chances of being allowed to visit anyway, with or without a race to watch in person?

French are way behind U.K. on vaccination, so given U.K. not opening up fully till June 21st then I think holidays to France by June 12th for LM must be doubtful, esp now we are outside the EU. Just my view

If I go abroad at all this year it will be to France by road and that only if France is open for Busienss.
Real pity about LeMans as that was in the diary and I was on the reserve list.

If they movement the Race to September again then I think they would allow spectators.
However, as mentioned, France are way behind the UK with vaccinations so I don’t think that spectators will be allowed this year.

We might be able to visit though and watch on tv.

I share this view, Summer outside of the UK will only be any good if you go to a country who are desperate for the income... then there is the risk of being quarantined on return. Hence we cancelled this week.

We were hoping to go over the channel later this year but have decided not to bother this year. I’ve got a credit with Gites de France from last year until October 28th but will either just extend the credit or get our money back. I can’t see the point of booking something and hoping it will come off. Plenty of things to do in this country let’s just hope we get a half decent summer.

Back over the 30,000 new infections here yesterday.
The Government have consistently said they won't relax restrictions until we're below 5,000 new infections a day.

Or have heavily Vaccinated their population...

Israel it is, this year....Shalom!
I used to work in Israel a lot and it seems like a great holiday destination. No clue about the Red Sea, but the Med coast is great and Tel Aviv a real party city. Helluva long drive, though.
