The ACO are pretty good at going against the norm and if there is a chance to force it through they will, with or without the Americans.

We should have been off to Indy next week but that has been pushed out to end of August, we can't go due to other commitments and silly priced flights so we might be considering going to Le Mans in stead.

It’s not just the Americans a couple of French teams are out to. Most of them seem to have new cars and I’d guess the lack of development time has meant they don’t want to run.

Could be back to the old days where reliability really was king.

They could go right back to the old days and run it with road legal cars! That would really make it fun!
And keep costs down!

Yeah, I was thinking that at the weekend. And then I saw a headline from Macron saying that anyone going into France might be subject to 4-weeks quarantine. Let's hope not.

Shame about Corvette, but let's hope that other teams have bigger balls / a higher tolerance for risk.
Corvette are one of the stalwarts and great rival to AM since the 60's and latterly against the DBR9's and V8 Vantages, so will be sorely missed in GT. With Ford and BMW out too, the GT category is looking more sparse, with AM, Porsche and Ferrari, the latter only fielding private teams.

Looks like a deal might be struck with no quarantine between France and UK (like Ireland) as they are desperate to encourage the huge number of British tourists back. Hope so, as all the bookings for my Le Mans and Provence lets have been cancelled or pushed back to 2021. Le Mans rescheduled for mid Sept, so I'm still hopeful of that. Can't even visit my properties at the moment to check all is OK

If there is no race, we, and expect many others will still go.

Our group is x38 and they are all rareing to go regardless of a race or not.

Is there a race? Joking aside, provided the border is open without stupid quarantine threats, I'll be there.

And if the track is empty, I suggest a SM track day.

I’ll just be happy winding up the major of Le Lude. He’s already sent armed police round our gite....fking comedian. We know where his house is now,

Major? or Mayor?

If he was a Major I assume he would have surrendered already?

Matt would you ever consider doing something UK based? Like Silverstone, or another event?

Someone I know who organises a couple of race series in the UK tried to put together a project to drive a car to Le Mans and then race it about 10 years ago but he couldn't make it happen. Shame as I would probably have been involved if it had, hence how I know about it.
