Hi Elliott, I signed up to SEC, but see that some of the forums are blocked. I'm assuming this is down to the subscription? Not a lot of money, but I can't find what, if anything, I get for the annual subscription? Can you shed any light? Thanks, Miles.

Hi Miles. With membership you get a quarterly magazine, club discounts for tickets at events such as the Silverstone Classic, plus a guaranteed display space for your car (if it's a stratos, naturally) , member garage open days. Most of these guys are amazing mechanics with a wealth of knowledge for builders, club merchandise, a member's only forum and first dibs on parts offered by club members.

It's a great little club. Full of really friendly and helpful people. The Silverstone weekend is a highlight of my motoring year.

Is it true the Hawk Stratos Replica sales took off after the episode of Top Gear that was far from positive?
The HF3000 version with the Alfa V6 would be a real thrill.
Someone in the Montecarlo Consortium owns a Monte with an Alfa V6; by all accounts it is a sensational car to drive and quite easy to convert from the factory 2 litre 4 cylinder engine.
BTW, if anyone is interested in a Monte the owners of The Monte Hospital are selling their black Series 2 Spyder for 5,000 GBP.
It sounds like a great car with all the upgrades done and sorted.
Rod & Linda are lovely people to deal with as well.

That episode almost tore the Stratos Enthusiasts' Club apart. Top Gear were economical with the truth in my opinion. Both to the featured car's owner and to the viewers of the show. The car that appeared was in a poor condition and should never have been used. Egos got in the way and to this day, the Lancia episode is the only one I will not watch.

Sounds about right...TV will only give you want they want and what they think will get people watching.......
