Hopefully we will be in North Italy just before you lot arrive there... so the locals won't drive us away with pitchforks!

I saw the Harry Metcalf's vidio of the roads above Monaco etc a year after the rains... they were still devastated, may be worth checking your routes are not still under construction in that area.

I don’t know what you mean, they love us in Italy :D

We’ll be doing the detailed route for the itinerary nearer the time, I would hope the closed roads will be marked out at that point.

Used the same myself and concur, although the breakfast was bland, but we only paid 1/4 price due to aircrew discount.
