    550 Maranello v 612 Scaglietti

This seems good value, or rather cheap depending on your point of view https://autofficina.co.uk/cars/for-sale/ferrari-612-scaglietti-4/ but it's from a recognised place. I gather early 612s are not a patch on the later ones but even so.

    Ferrari Brave Pill

If only the 456 was manual.. Then again when I mentioned wanting one a member of staff at the local dealer did rather suck his teeth and recommend against it. Frequent and expensive flyers at his place of work. Even so it's a lovely colour.

    Ratarossa 512BB

I'm starting to wonder what has become of his 456. I know he has 7 or 8 Ferraris so they aren't all stored at home but he hasn't mentioned it for ages. I think he paid about $17000 unseen from the US. I'm amazed it actually had an engine by the time it arrived!

Worth going down the Ferrari route?

I wondered that on PH a while back and it was considered waaay overpriced, granted by one person but they seem informed. They also pointed out that this car https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2000-ferrari-550-maranello is the same price and I'd have to admit was the better buy all things being...

Is this 456 known to any forum members?

Nothing to do with me yer honour! I can only assume the video author used the images from the auction. I've watched a couple of them now and they're quite interesting but the all use one of the auction images for the frontispiece yet, as MM says, the car in it is quite different. Just photograph...

I can't watch the video but that first shot is the same car as in the OP! Same place, same colour, same yellow calipers/wing shields etc

Is this 456 known to any forum members?

It looks like that link was from an auction in Feb 19 so I assume this is the selling price plus perhaps the buyers commission. It is currently for sale (no price given) in the their showroom https://www.coys.co.uk/showroom-cars none of them seem to have prices. This link...

Is this 456 known to any forum members?

Is that for auction or a classified price - seems an odd estimate figure. Looks ok in all black and you don't see many. But you'd want a good SH to avoid rather large bills. Actually I think you'd get those anyway! Would dearly love one, especially a manual, but the running costs could be grim.

    Cirencester Car Club Corinium Run

I'm intrigued. How does a Vauxhall Nova do 14.61 mpg over 121 miles - 2018 results last but one. Even he thought he'd do 35! But it's close to us so I'll endevour to remember and see what I can organise; looks a good outing. I can manage 3 V8s but sadly none of them Italian.

    Aged, leggy alfa estate...

Interesting, might be worth a look then. Do you know any of its history ?

    Aged, leggy alfa estate...

e39 tourings are indeed a handsome car. I was offered a B10 v8 touring a few years back but in the end the vendor kept it so I bought an e55 s211 estate. That I must say is a superb machine. A couple of weeks later the B10 became available again. Still not sure which would have been the better...

Tell me this is a bad idea. I've never had an alfa and feel I probably should at some point. So this came up quite close...

    Verde FF

Does it look more like that? On the FF, I'm sure it is a wonderous place to be and if you're spending that sort of cash then ****, have it how you want it!

    Verde FF

Am I alone in thinking the interior colour is just a bit of an anticlimax? Wouldn't a dark tan work better with the green. Superb machine all the same, so when does it arrive Ewan?

Ferrari 456 on the up ?

Yet it must be a sign of the current market that articles like this are identifying cars that are usually thought of as the bottom/least desirable of Ferrari's offerings. Mondials and 400 have never been exactly popular, just cheap (relatively). I'd add 308gt4s to the list but they are getting...
