Still on a high from the centenary run, a couple of ideas were muted one being so outrageous it is probably not viable but another could work:

Drew threw out to the other European forums the suggestion of them being our guests at the Goodwood revival next year so how about this...

September 2015

Saturday/Sunday: Goodwood Revival
Monday: Beaulieu AM & drive via Stonehenge to Celtic Manor
Tuesday: Welsh road rally stages up to Snowdonia/Conwy
Wednesday: AM Trac Mon (Anglesey Circuit)/PM Hollyhead to Dublin/Guinness brewery?
Thursday: Gentle drive to Cork
Friday/Saturday: South & West of Ireland TBA
Sunday returns:

I'm just putting it out there, never been to Southern Ireland but I fancy the de-restricted roads and I'm sure we would be welcomed :)

Already had a chat with Goodwood, and received quotes for the various available hospitality packages for such a large number. :)

Will have a chat with you/Matt/Rob/Whomever when we all get back to the UK - I'm not sure we will manage to get people to take a complete week off work though Newton!

Goodwood and Beaulieu were on my list too....

No problem Drew, I see it as more of one to dip in and out of as you see fit, Ireland is not for everyone but the thought of the rabble at the home of Guinness has an appeal and would be VERY messy!

Thought is was the Isle of Mann that had de restricted roads??? But I may be wrong.

Isn't the Republic the same as the Isle of Man where outside of towns the white disk with black bar means de-restricted (no-limit)?

I don't think so, and my feeling is that the Gardai are pretty strict on speed with quite a few speed camera vans out in the rural roads...but maybe that's just scare stories i've heard.

The radios were fantastic so sending Benny ahead as a scout is not a problem!

Newton - I like the sound of all of your itinerary, definitely interested.

Isle of Man is also somewhere on my wish list for their de-restricted roads.

It's an alternative, the reception for motor enthusiasts is great there and the roads are genuinely de-restricted out of town but very heavily policed from the apron limit approaching built up areas then the 30 in towns, as it should be! I've been over to the Isle of Man many times and it is a truly great driving experience but not that many suitable roads for these big cars. Definitely an alternative though :)

I think the UK hosting in 2015 is a great idea. People may not be able to take all the week off but will be able to dip in during those 7 days. We just need to pick our hosts very carefully for 2016 for maximum blatting!

sorry guys ... speed limit in ROI is similar to here except its 120kph on motorways.... try knockalla coast road, donegal... quite smooth, awesome views.. best rally stage in the world maybe..

the Gardi (police) can put points on your UK licence now too....

Kriss Meeke doing the stage in a 1600 clio... 3rd or 4th fastest on the stage beating WRC subarus etc ... amazing drive

Why not think Scotland and avoid the ferry costs?

We have several forum members from the North who can plan an amazing route and that could take in a distillery or five.....

I suppose now that Scotland's voted to stay in the U.K. it's a good shout!
Not only that but the continentals will have already done one ferry to get here and to do two on the return might get tiresome.

Scotland plays host to many supercar runs and so there's many hotels etc that are well versed in dealing with larger crowds and car paranoia!

Highlander, Stewart, Davy, Allan and Gus are all located in the north and well versed in the best roads etc. We could even run up to Skye or Islay etc.

Quite. There's no way the French lads will be interested in a drive to Ireland or Scotland.

Athol - sounds like heaven and we can bring the cars to Davy for running repairs and fettling. It would be amusing to see us all at Knockhill on the footpath that passes for the circuit and gunning it over the crest along the straight.

I'll get my midge cream ready.

Drumnadrochit to Skye is a very agreeable stretch of road, as is the 'track' over to Apple Cross. Too many good roads to mention but I'd certainly be up for that if I can get time off.
