I also like polishing Adam.......

I have been toying with the idea of a 156 GTA SW....Have been talking to a chap who has a silver one for sale....DO like them a lot but I then look at the GTV and drive it and I don't think it would be any more fun....My GTV is so well sorted and well set up that a 3.2 would just not stay with it.......

Was talking to Parve Chris the other day about the track day and how I couldn't believe that the 147 GTA couldn't keep up with my GTV..He said he's found the 3.0l a quicker car than the 3.2......interesting.....................

Theother thing with the GTV is thatit reminds me of a mini 3200..The driving position, the rake of the windscreen....the postioin of the controls........Chris said that he never say a GTV as a mini 3200 but he said that was spot on...It feels special when you are in it.....Not sure I could sell her at the moment....

But I could stetch to the 155 above and just use her for tracks and a few blasts....

Thats the one Adam...Cheap car............The black one was offered to me....He said make him an offer. Not fussed on the grill he has put on. The silver one I think could be had for 4500 but no Q2 and its needed on these...I like the silver one it look OK in the pics and sounds OK...

If you could get that silver one for 4.5k then i would snap his hand off, spend a few £'s getting that engine sorted as it looks a mess, Alfa's V6 has to be immaculate IMO. The side bolster is weak on Alfa's and shows it's age so i would probably get a re trim on the drivers seat and passenger's seat (if worn) then fit the Q2, wheel refurb and a good detail. Then it would look STUNNING.

Why does it need a Q2 to stop it going bang??? How much is it to repair the bumper?? If i was you i would go for it, i know how much you love your GTV but you have owned them in the past so i would try something new, if you can get this for about 4.5k it would be a steal.

I like the look of the car with the Fiat Coupe engine but i dont like that engine because it is not original and there is nothing wrong with the 2.5, 3.0 V6 or the 4 Cylinder from Alfa.

Yep i did post that video, i cant believe how quick that thing gets off the line.

Andy, this GTA was for sale about 3-4 months ago, guy even created a separate website to advertise the car.

This is the reason they need Q2 Adam...

It would seem that the original GTA open diff is weak and has a tendency of disintegrating spectacularly and punching a big hole on the gearbox casing, often taking the gearset with it. A Q2 is a required modification to stop it happening and is vectored into pricing as such.

Worth a punt Adam.........My only though is because I have all the mods on the GTV I would have to start again......But this very tempting...........Plus I need to phone the guy with the 155 today as he wants a chat...........PlusnI have asked for info on the red Ghibli which I am talking to the chap about....PLus someone has aksed to buy the GTV and is coming on Saturday....God it's all happening...which way to turn....

If 155 then I will keep GTV....If one of the other two will sell GTV....

Bloody nora, your a busy man then, you thinking of getting that Ghibli?? someone wants your GTV, if they make a good offer then it would be tempting to sell. If you bought the GTA you would have 2 156 SW's on the drive, that would look quite cool.

It would Adam.......I keep looking at the Ghibli but not sure if its a stretch too far with running costs but I do really like it.......Have asked for advice from Pibbow and Paul the chap who owns it has been sending me mails...Paul, has also been on here looking at what we have said about his car so told him to come on and say hello....Everyone has an opinion so he would be able to put the record straight...

To be fair it does look a well pampered example. The running costs will depend on how often you use it and how hard you drive it. It is a pretty difficult situation at the moment because i bet if you could you would have the 155 and GTA plus keep the GTV and have the Ghibli for special drives.

Adam, here is what the chap has said about the GTA

Last year it was serviced and also had all heads, seals, valves, replaced with a new cambelt.
Afla Services in Leic did the work for me which cost £2k, during the last yr its only done a few hundred miles since the work and MOT last June.
The paint work is very good and stone chips are minimal, just a few here and there.
The front spoiler has a crack in it but it was like that when I bought it, the guy said it was a speed hump which was too high.
Leather has no issues front or back, I will send as many pics as I have.
The car is SORN at the moment.
The crack is about 3 inches long on the drivers side, its never bothered me but a bit of filler and a touch up stick would fix it. Pic 10 if u zoom in you can see it.
The cambelt went so Alfa sorted that and did all the values seals etc, so its just about a new engine hence the 2K spent on it.

He has spent a heck of a lot on it. What does SORN mean?

If you got it for 4.5k then you would spend about 1200 on it fitting the Q2, wheel refurb, bumper and possibly restoring some of the engine parts as the V6 on these cars looks so nice, it is a shame not to have it in concourse condition.

SORN is a Statutory Off Road Notice. You have to notify DVLA if the car is off the road or you get dicked £100. Just another motoring tax.

975 to do Q2 and wheels.......Then its only the bumper which can wait...The engine will come up with some elbow grease.......The polished ports are still shiny so just the dull metal to clean and the plastic.
