For a 4x4 it ain't bad looking, still think Alfa shouldn't be making one.

had a chat with the Maserati stand at Silverstone Classic, according to them different build platform completely to theirs, though tbh I thought it looked similar when I first saw it ;)

Yes the Stelvio is built on the Giorgio (from Giulietta) platform. The Levante is built on the Ghibli / QP platform.

Looks fine and it makes sense for AR to be in this market.

The main point form 'our' perspective is that it still gives no clarity as to how Maserati will be developed and how it sits viz a viz the rebirth of AR. All confusing...still.

Yes you can buy an Alfa SUV with 510BHP and a Maserati one with 275 here, or if youre in Europe, what is it, 400?
The Alfa is smaller though, but surely the Levante should have a hotter version than Alfa does?

I'd take that over the Levante any day.
Cheers Wattie

I agree with you Wattie....It's proportions look better.... Sort pf prettier if a 4x4 can be pretty. I rather like it....It should be able to handle he power as there are a few very powerful 4x4's on the market. Look forward to seeing one in the flesh.

I think I agree Dem....I saw the Giulia on the lorry and the side profile had a whiff of BMW about it....This looks a bit more Alfa and individual.

Really love the V6 Dem...Not seen the standard car up close so will have to take a trip to the dealer. See how it compares to the XE.

Seems to me that Alfa is aimed at younger customers with top of the range quicker and on par price with bottom of Masersti range, Maserati slightly slower , more luxurious, bigger and more expensive. l am afraid Fiat see Alfa as the more sportier brand.

What are FGA doing? They seem to be pitching Maserati and Alfa against each other, surely this is not a good thing?

First with the Ghibli/Giulia and now the Levante/Stelvio????

It certainly feels that way Matt....The Alfa I think is more pitched at the Macan and the Maserati at the Cayenne but when the Alfa will be quicker and probably the same money as the entry Maserati it's hard to over look it smaller or not. Looks are subjective I like the look of it more as well. I think Rex may have hit it on the head with Maserati being the luxury brand and Alfa the sporty one maybe

It is a bit crazy, but Alfa do have a sporting heritage as well. I'm looking at this as FCA know that Alfa are the way that they will be profitable. If they can make a successful tilt at the Germans with Alfa then the volumes will mean the FCA make a lot of money. Maserati is, unfortunately, secondary to this. Its more of a niche luxury brand. What I would hope for is more, higher specced versions at the top end. V8s in everything.
