Some reviewers are saying with its V6 and side view it is very MC20. Wonder if the V6 is the same or the Alfa/Ferrari one.

Individual elements are cool, but they don't hang together as a cohesive design.
Need to spend some more time with it, see it in the flesh.

The back isn’t pretty a bit like those Aston Zagatos they did a couple of years ago and the front is too blobby. Problem is when you pick one of the prettiest cars of all time to copy it’s always going to look a bit like a knock off.

Need to see more views, as above not sure it totally holds together but on the basis I won't be getting one I'm not going to lose any sleep over that fact. It is good Alfa get a halo model occasionally even if in very small numbers

It is the Alfa/Ferrari one - my first thought was also that it. Ignore be very much related to the MC20 but apparently not. Also interesting to see that they are letting customers choose between EV or V6 on such a small run. Somehow I can’t imagine many will be going for the EV option on such an iconic car that will most probably (and sadly) hardly be driven. Whoever was lucky enough to buy one will have made an instant 100% ROI I can imagine.

It uses MC20 integral chassis and mechanical parts so it’s got an identical wheelbase but it’s got the classic 33 roof doors. Some more pics for those that haven’t looked it up yet:

You can see the resemblance with the MC20. I prefer the Maserati to be honest and at least you can buy one of those. Side view the MC20 just looks better for me and the back of the MC20 is elegant and sleek and initial pictures of the back of the 33 it is no where near as pretty to my eyes.

Agreed Andy, MC20 is not pretending to be something it’s not.

I don’t think there is a better looking super car than the MC20 Matt. It isn’t fussy like a Ferrari or in your face like a Lambo and is such and elegant design. Maserati back at their best and the fact it has won many group tests just adds to its appeal. A Maserati you don’t have to make excuses for. I see used ones now start at around 165k so they have started to tumble a bit in the last year. Can see you in one soon Matt.

Not an expert in limited run supercars but I guess it depends on the drive. It doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the table above the car it’s based on. The Daytona seemed to mate an engine / layout together that hasn’t been seen for a while to create something new (like it or not), which I think is great, not so sure about the Alfa. IMG_3103.jpeg

4200 gave us the 8C
4C gave us the MC20
MC20 gave us 33..

Badge engineering at its finest except one brand has to dig up old names to be relevant today.

Yes, it is planned. When they hit what I think is the safe'ish bottom of £135k I may pull the trigger. The problem is, I can't bring myself to sell the Strad, so it will have to be an 'as well as' and not a replacement which makes it even more financially burdening.

I like the 33, it’s got something exciting. The first pic with the bad lighting and reflection doesn’t do it justice. It’s more extravagant than the MC20 which is fairly muted, like most Maserati’s. Nothing wrong with that but it’s just a different style. I guess they put in their own engine as otherwise it really would have been a re-bodied MC20.I also like that they allowed the front to open up to mirror the original. To see a car opened up like that is quite spectacular.

I wouldn’t think it will be much more than 12 months before we see one at that price Matt.
