Friend of mine has 3 adult weekend tickets and 3 adult quiet camping tickets for sale for Carfest North if anyone is interested.

A Gnat T1 training jet has crashed at Oulton Park during Carfest killing the pilot Kevin Whyman. A tragic accident and my condolences go to his family and friends. RIP Kevin.

Having just seen the footage, it looks, to me, like disorientation and/or GLOC which is easily done in high performance jets. Tragic.

I'd agree with that, the rolls look fine if nice and rapid, but the turn was certainly going to produce substantial g. Nothing blindingly obvious as the cause though; considering he was a very experienced display pilot those manoeuvres weren't too outlandish.

It looks like he overbanked slightly on the exit and the turn away from the crowd line took him down and around instead of around. Easily done if pulling hard and looking over your shoulder at where you need to be, and at 500 feet time isn't your ally if things start going wrong. I once GLOCed at 11000 feet in a JP 5A and lost over 8000 feet before I recovered it.
