Thanks Elliott - that was my QP5 on the stand yesterday...
It was pleasing to see it attracting considerably more attention than the new QP6 next to it. Managed to wangle a proper look in the QP6 after all the crowds had left; Maserati had loaned the car, under strict instructions to not allow anyone to sit in it! It's beautifully finished, but somehow lacking in emotion inside. I was also surprised to find the rear seats do not have electrical adjustment (mine do...), and the that centre glovebox is tiny. The remote 'key' for the keyless start is however a work of art; only problem is the size and weight. It's easily double the size of my blue enamel key...
Very comfortable though - more like an S-Class than my QP though. Parked side-by-side, it's easy to see how much larger the new car is. The boot is huge, and the rear leg-room significantly greater.
What I don't understand is why Maserati didn't have a stand at Silverstone. With two new models to sell, surely it was a gift? Aston were there, selling. Porsche were there, selling. A couple of demonstrators and minders to take some names etc would have gone a long way for a company looking to sell 50k units in a year.
Sorry I didn't find you Elliott - we came over to the Stratos stand, but you were nowhere to be seen at the time.
