We should do a stand there, park together etc it wouldn't take much organisation and other clubs do it.

I am really looking forward to this.
I have emailed Phil again to get in. Hopefully he will be kind and considerate and get me in.
Then we will have a bit more Larini to play :)

Hi All

Is anyone doing the driving experience day on the 29th? I heard that Phil is arranging another event the day before - see below:

Auto Italia Driving Experience

Auto Italia magazine’s 2016 Brooklands Italian Car Day will be held on Saturday April 30th. To complement the event this year a driving experience for owners of selected Italian cars has been established at a nearby private test facility (and Auto Italia’s photo location) on Friday April 29th. With the events being held over consecutive days the intention is to offer Italian car owners the opportunity to take in two neighbouring venues.

This is not a conventional track day that places stress on both cars and drivers but an opportunity for owners to demonstrate their skills. The 2-mile circuit includes fast straights, banked corners and a hill in the ‘forest’ section. The demanding nature of the course requires the use of pace cars to control the groups of cars. Numbers will be limited so drivers will have plenty of laps.

Because the venue is not open to the public attendance needs to be pre-booked. In the first instance Italian car owners should apply to the organisers with registration details of the car they wish to enter. Subject to entry acceptance the cost will be £100 per car and £25 for a nominated additional driver. Spectators are welcome and free of charge but must provide their car details and registration numbers for security purposes. Closing date for all applications is April 15th. Further details will be published in Auto Italia. For entries contact mail@philwardevents.com

Definitely! How about the 3200 or the QP...or will you have the GTS MCS by then? Might be a good work out for one of them??

That must be Longcross test track. I did my first ever cycle race there a few years back, it's a really good circuit.

Bloody shame I'm away that weekend so missing both these AI events.

Thanks greeny, as I was wondering where it would be held. It looks like the proving ground they use for shots on the car shows like Wheeler Dealers, For the Love of Cars etc...

Me neither Mark. There's often a long delay in his responses, I've found. I'll give him a nudge next week if I've heard nothing.

Mmmmmmmmmmm Longcross -- Not for me I'm afraid but I might spectate the event.
£100 for lapping behind a pace car doesn't sound good value but it's each to his own I guess.
Volunteered for the Brooklands parade but still have'nt heard back (I mention this in the hope that S*d's Law still works and I shall hear within the hour!)
Nearly tore the engine out of the GTV last year on the hillclimb so not too keen to repeat that experience!
Hope that there will be an area allocated for the Massers, I have not noticed one the past 3 years.
Looking forward to a nostalgic day out. (Apprentice 1953 - 1958)
