Seems most have gone with “the best” as being the loudest …..if it’s just pure engine sounds that we are talking about then my old GTV V6 Busso is up there

Yup, I'd agree with that. That old Busso V6 noise never gets old or tiring.

The E60 M5 V10 was always a lovely sounding car too.

Then that old Supercharged Chimaera I had was both loud and decent sounding IMHO.

The E43 AMG was one of the worst sounding!

Mazda 787B, triple rotary engine that just screams only car I have ever seen at Le Mans that had me wishing I had ear plugs, it was that loud but in a good way. Not sure its the best sounding engine but certainly grabs you attention.

It's also my favourite GranTurismo car I have spent hours driving to round virtual circuits on lots of versions of GT
