Fitting the Tubis

Firstly the plastic engine cover came off.

Next the honeycomb grills

Now the bumper and wheels

Note the size of the standard exhaust! The Tubi weighed less than one side of it!

Old exhaust out. Only major problem so far was the brackets holding the exhaust to the cats. The bolts were corroded and had to be drilled out. New better quality bolts were used to replace them.

The Tubi

The Tubi in place

2nd problem was that the heat shield that covers the exhaust no longer fitted. So it had to be modified. Its brackets were removed, it's shape was changed, brackets riveted back on, re-painted and it looked better than before. 3rd problem was an 02 sensor was jammed solid in the old exhaust. We got it out, but the sensor no longer had a thread. Luckily we had a spare!

good report there peter, is there a classic mini in the background in one of the pictures.

Yes, its a mini of some sorts, I dont know mini's. My mate has been restoring it for the last 7 years!

He's done all the bodywork, painted it, everything.

He painted the front of mine a few weeks ago. He is 10/10 at paintwork.

Nice video's on your youtube channel, you have a manual Gallardo, not many manual Gallardo's around.

I prefer manual. Less to go wrong also. I heard of a guy that had a problem with his e-gear, it needed a new module or something, the part was about £10k!! I think his car was off the road for months while he saved!

My mates is manual too.

the manual was the one to go for...e gear was a mess back then...now however they have improved it and the LP560 is a big seller in e gear form...
