I've seen bills when the Gransport was first launched at £330 for a clutch, now £750+ VAT everywhere, monopoly on the market = charge whatever they like!

That seems quite steep, Darren. I suggest you call around and get competitive quotes. I had my car transported from NW London to Manchester to have a new clutch installed because of Autoshield's reputation and fair price for the work.

spoken to a few and waiting for estimates but haven't tried autoshield yet. interested why these and not mcgarth which are closer ? was it due to cost

Put simply, the person I wanted to trust my car to was (is) Marios. His knowledge is excellent, he treats his customers' cars like his own, he comes highly recommended and his price was very competitive. There are a number of London/south based owners who take their cars to him. Now I've done it I can see why!
