Giulia Twin Spark Engine Rebuild

I've been away from this forum for a while but have still made some progress on my other projects.

About 5 years ago I fitted Jenvey throttle bodies to my 1967 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce which already had a twin spark conversion.

I've run it for some time like this, standard engine internals etc but it was starting to burn a lot of oil and was generally worn.

So instead of getting it rebuilt like for like of course I went for more, I got Dave Ashford @ Brunswick Motorsport to re build my engine.

Spec is uprated but not crazy:

Big Valves (46mm Inlet and 38.5mm Exhaust from Alfaholics)
Ported Head
Forged Pistons
Standard Rods
Camshaft from Classic Alfa, Inlet cam has 12.75mm lift, exhaust cam 12.1mm lift made by Cat Cams I believe. This one: EN320 PAIR TWIN SPARK PERFORMANCE
Lightened Flywheel
Engine Balanced
Alfaholics Exhaust which I already had.

Anyway, I now have 212bhp and 174lbft which is not bad in a car that weighs no more than 1100KG

I'm off to do the Classic Alfa Trackday at Goodwood in a few months, always wanted to do that, looks like a lot of fun!

Looks lovely the TS engine just fits so nicely in a 105 with the added benefit of more power, have fun but be warned Goodwood has a habit of biting back

A good friend and experienced racer went from this

Thanks, yes I think I will try and make sure the red mist doesn't get to me too much, I've done a few track days but not at Goodwood which I understand is very fast and not a lot of run off!

I have uprated 4 pot brakes too which hopefully will stand up well enough, but I have relatively rolly polly road suspension and road tyres, so that is going to make it interesting.

What I see above doesn't bare thinking about, but got to have a go!!!

Went to the Classic Alfa Trackday at Goodwood this weekend, what a fantastic day I had!

Caught up with some friends and enjoyed chatting to other Alfisti.

Car performed well and all back in one piece.

I think the engine surprised a few people, my car is sort of a wolf in sheep’s clothing compared to some of the stripped and cages cars that were there, Goodwood is a bit of a power circuit and I got asked a few times what I had under the bonnet :)

Having your foot flat to the floor in 5th and taking a bend is a new one for me!

My car has road biased suspension and tyres but it coped really well with it all, great fun!

A nice sit down lunch above the pits was a bonus and also the chance to walk about a quiet Goodwood not packed with people.
