I was having a chat with an Alfa mechanic mate of mine the other day and the 3.2 GT vs GTV thread came up, where do you all stand?

Having the GT, the brakes and steering are excellent, but for me the GTV just has that sports car feel that the GT lacks.

Saying that, TS vs GT JTD, no contest, I would not part with the GT, its a fab bit of kit.

Have you ever driven one?

I thought the same, then I bought one, bloomin quick will do a TS and a 2.5V6 I recon and no matter how you drive it you always get 500+ to the tank.

Yeap. I have a Fiat Punto Van for work and a Ducato Van :p

Great engines not saying anything bad about them but i still prefer petrol :)

I prefer the 3.2 GTV
The 3.2 GT hasn't got the presence which the GTV has. The GTV is probably one if the best looking Alfas ever made.
But then Alfa cocked up with the 3.2 GTV and GT, they should of made them look differen from the other engine variants. Side skirts flared arches a more aggressive stance. Make a statement to the other Marques out there don't **** with me cus I'm quick and ill **** on ya chips

My opinion anyway

Two discussions in one thread.

Diesels, they just don't give me a sporty feel, I know they have lots of torque and pull really well but just when the revs start too rise you need to change up. I like the feel of a high revving petrol engine. It is all about that rev counter spinning up, all those valves and pistons working harder and harder that makes an engine work for me. The final nail in the coffin for a Diesel is the noise, even the best still sound like an old transit van on initial start up - improved sound deadening and turbos all help to keep noise down but with normally on petrol engines we try to open the exhausts and inlet tracts up to hear more of the noise.

GTV over GT, totally different cars. The GT is a more planted car which provides an great way of getting from A to B quickly and in some style. The GTV has always been a bit more fidgety, both ends tend to move around a bit giving you much more feel in the seat of your pants, hence why they feel more sporty. Personally I have never got on with the GT looks, it just misses out in some areas although I have never really been able to put my finger on exactly where.

Anyway I wouldn't have either, a good 155 is so much better and you can carry the kids :)

Hate to **** on your chips here but that's a slideshow, not a video and the frame lengths are way too long.
