I picked it up from Pro Alfa. A 3.0 GTV, powerflexed, fancy exhaust, mapped at about 240bhp. Had overheated, head gaskets gone. Just been tidying up a few bits round the car, while it is still mobile, until after the Centenary trip when I will start in earnest. Have a spare 3.0 that I may drop in, or possibly just change heads, belts ,check waterpump etc. Will post some pics later.

When the 'new' GTV' was launched I thought it looked great, still do, but for me the wheels are driven at the wrong end.
Having never actually driven one, I don't know if this is a problem and spoils the potential enjoyment?

Mike, I have had 3 of them and it really is a great car to drive...with a few choice upgrades it really is great fun.....

Yes, I've had two great fun, though truth be told perhaps a little nose heavy as a track day weapon. Mine will be more a road car for Mrs allandwf.

Mrs Catman had one. I used to be amazed at how tinny it was switching between my 3.2 GT and here 2.0 TS

GTV's can be great cars but the nose heavy front of the 3.0 makes an already twitchy chassis a bit of a challenge. You can dial some of it out but ultimately it is always a nearly there car - IMO.

It needs a Q2 dif and some suspension mods and it transforms the car....but yes they are nose heavy.....

^ Agreed. I had a Q2 diff in mine, could still catch you out though, remember spinning it on a roundabout, oh the shame :blushed:
