I was trying to dismiss this as a fake but reading through it does add up.

I I were you Andy, you could buy this for £1500, take the phase 3 bits off it and put them on your including the interior, then sell the rest for spared, the lump is worth an easy £500 and get your money back.

Ok youll have to paint the bonnet but I guess you have a few stone chips anyway.

Don't have to tell me anout that one Matt.....

On a different note......reallt frustrated with the search for a cheap 156 SW for Liz....Was telling Dem...The v6 we bought fell through as the day we went to pick it up all manner of sensors went bang and when they went to fix it it was going to cost him as much to fix as he was selling to us so the garage made him an offer to take as it was...........Lucjy escape for us I say as it would have been our problem a day or two later.....

ANyway been to see a few Twin Spart cars and I know we are only paying just over a grand or so but people advertise as immaculate and when you get there they are sheds.....Why not tell it as it is as you are never going to sell it when punters see it....We went to see a local one yesterday. Thought we could get the price down a bit as it seemed a bit expensive....but he siad it was stunning...Got there...the paint was rusted around the wing mirror, dents, seats dirty as **** not cleaned, wheels corroded....Battery flat as stood around which OK could be sorted....Test drove it and it broke down so had to run back to the garage to get them.....And gues what they said...Do you want to buy!!!!!.............They wouldn't even come down on price and said the reason was because it was price well and was in great condition.....Think they needed glasses.......SO walked away from that one........

Sure one will come up and realise the cars we are looking at are 10 years old but being honest will save time and money........There is one in Stafford which we may see at the weekend but Liz is now worried that they are not being honest about the car and we will waste more time and money..

So, if anyone knows of a 156 SW between 2000/2002 in OK condition with history, and not falling apart let me know.....

Andy saw my old one the other day a year on and she is still going. It was tired though, had had 2 cambelts go and 2 head rebuilds but ran fine.

The wishbones were shot, but a couple of hundred quid and an afternoon on the garage floor and that would have sorted that.

If I were you, I would stretch my budget to £3k and go for the face lift JTDm they are a very much sorted car and with that bomb proof JTD and 550 miles per tank will last you a good 5 years.

Just get one with leather can be easy had for £3k:

Thanks Matt...would do but because Liz thought she had the car the extra money she had from the sale of the Skoda has now ben earmarked so 1000 - 1500 is what she wants to spend...There are good ones out there just may tak some time.

A diesel alfa will go for time......
At 1500 a good one can be had, just needs patience....the 1.8 is good enough for a runaround
