Well Dem, I think what they mean is that you would not be insured if they found out this was happening, so double whammy...
no insurance, and driving without insurance!!

Yep it is illegal, it is known as "fronting" where your saying to the insurer your parent is the main driver and you (the child) will drive the car now and again not all the time. It is risky business but i dont see how the insurance company can prove that the child is the main driver.

Nice car the GTA..Thats not a standard exhaust is it?.....

I agree 8k for a GTV is just far too mauch....better off buying one for 3k to 4k and spending the money on some nice up grades..Q2 etc.

Had exhaust made, ivestigated Tubi & Alfa guys in North London etc & was shocked at prices, had this one made for £400 centre section back, sounded great & spat flames on overrun...lol! Wheels are also non standard, hated Teledials so changed them & then thought....I'm going in the wrong direction with this car, so sold it, saw a blue one on Friday, looked great. GTA should be quicker then the GTV as its lighter, has more power & a bigger motor.... remember the Top Gear test of the RS Cosworth Golf VR6 & GTA, GTA was maddest & baddest & fastest in a straight line & they all chose it

Suppose it's a little unfair for me to compare as my GTV has adjustable supension, Q2 and well set up...plus I new the track better than the GTA driver so I had the edge...

i would compare it Andy as a lot of the sporty Alfa's have had the Q2 and some have had suspension upgrades.

Loads of GTA's have a Q2, quite rare you find one without it. They do need it though as they do understeer on circuits when pushed hard, just watch the top gear review.

Cant really compare a cars ability to get around a track without same driver on board, as at llandow my old 155 got past far quicker machinery on paper, saying that Andy you gtv looked so well set up with minimal body roll and also a nice smooth driving style, not like many of us going way too quick into the bends and understeering all the way through.
