As we approach Le Mans it was nice to see a 4.5ltr 'Blower' Bentley snarling and popping on the roads around Nantwich but it's pretty sobering to think that my 3ltr Diesel BM is almost certainly faster across country than a previous world beating endurance racer. However, whilst it may be faster, I'll bet my BM isn't anywhere near as exciting to drive, or be a passenger in.

A friend of mine is travelling to Le Mans in an ex factory Jaguar C Type, he is just hoping it doesn't rain as there is no weather protection at all

Ok, I have planned a route for the way down as we have bags of time, not toll roads or motorways, all off piste.

Something David and I have wanted to do for a while is take the coast road from Calais to Le Touquet and it works rather well.

We have a great off piste run from Rouen down to Le Mans, no motorways and some lovely roads and nice villages to stop for coffee at. We use it most years unless we are pushed for time
