Gave her all my attention today....She turned out looking pretty good I think.......Ordered a new steering wheel as ir was worn and gear nob...New badge for the front grill and some new mats.......Just need to get the odd dent sorted this week and wheels refurbed...Or she has hinted she wants some teledials so she looking through ebay as I type........Jobs a good un...

Looks good Andy. She will look very good when she is finished. Personally, I wouldn't go too dark with the wheels when you get them done. It looks like money well spent. Good effort!

Adam, selespeed is not auto...Its a clutchless manual.......And yes never thought we would have had one as Liz drove one 5 years ago and didn't like it...but drove this and it was really good....Sure itwill need some looking after but it's the closest I'm going to get to a CC box so happy....Much better than I remember...........Myself and Dem spoke at length about Selespeed and I think now it was right ot buy her......

Oh and yes I do type far to fast,,,shocking spelling in thats thread.....

Liz has decided to keep the wheels now....

Dem, we had given up hope....ebay, Pistonheads, Autotrader................she was talking of getting a 'normal' car.....did one more search and turned up this one that had ended on ebay....We asked if it had sold it hadn't and was in Hereford so not far from me........It was the 65k on the clock that appealed.....She didn't want selespeed and she wanted leather but if good with those miles she had to compromise...........I was concerned about the reliability of selespeed but after speaking to a specialist he said that its reliable as long as its re calibrated every year which most owners don't do.......

Great stuff Andy , i'll have a word with him at the weekend when he gets back from Turkey, in the meantime i'll try and check with the dvla that the plate can go on his 55 plate polo
