Okay, track day insurance? what's everyone doing?

OK Miles, this one really is up to you as some do some don't.....Track day insurance will cost you something like £200/£300ish depending on the car. If you put that on the price of the day its an expensive day out but if you do, God forbid, have an off its a cheap addition. What I will say is I have not been to a well organised track day and seen anyone smash up their pride and joy as most owners treat there cars and others with respect.

A track day is safer than driving fast on the open road as it's controlled...you can not over take in corners, you can only overtake on the right, you can only overtake if the car if front lets you and anyone being naughty gets black flagged. Thats not to say that if you are pushing the limits of you and car beyond your own capabilities you will not get twitchy bottom moments or worse but you do find that drivers drive within their own limits.

When I organise these days I do keep an eye on who is asking to come along and if I don't know anyone I look for recommendations from people I do know....If you go to a free for all track day...Castle Coombe Action Day for instance....you get all sorts on from sports cars to the baseball hat backwards brigade and yes I've see a few dented cars there. But we are all gentlemen drivers so this shouldn't be a issue.

As I said at the start this really is a individual thing....Me, I never have had track day insurance (hope thats not the kiss of death) so please don't come to close to me at Llandow.

This is Loz's mate with the Golf. (Gareth) bit new to all this forum stuff. Anyway definitely still coming so need to know how I can pay you. Fingers crossed Golf will be back on road by then, having a new engine fitted after blowing my last engine at Beford Autodrome. One advantage of a Golf is I can buy a whole car for the price of a set of brake pads for a Maserati.

Perhaps I should buy Loz's car, will have plenty of money when wife divorces me after she finds out.
