Given that mine seems to have developed a crack, looking for a windshield for a LHD Gransport (or 4200) in good nick.
There is a difference between early 4200 windscreens and the later 4200 /GS screens. Early 4200s do not have the radio aerial built into the screen as they had the bee sting area on the rear wing.

Also watch that your replacement screen still has the connection for the aerial intact which is at the top middle of the screen and connect just under the headlining.

Still a need I'm afraid.
Found one and it cracked when the guy was taking it out of the car it was in...
This is turning into a full blast detective story... ;)

Might be silly money but may be worth sending pilkingtons an email. They can make to order for you if they dont already have the tooling and do supply classic Maserati screens.

I spoke with Pilkington a couple years back with respect the rear glasses. They have a 3200 (rear) pattern, apparently. They were pretty helpful and responsive via email. Quite technical in terms of dimensions and what they require, as you’d expect.
I can’t believe these screens are nla. There’s a lot of these cars still in use. I know I worry about it. After decades of never damaging a screen, I’ve had to replace a piece of glass every 15 months for the last 5-6 years.

I wonder how many it’d take to satisfy a limited run…? If the 3200 is the same, except for an aerial or whatever, which I’m certain they can easily incorporate, it’d be well worth an email…!
Good luck.

You can get a plexiglass screen for £525 but its more for track purposes i suspect than road use.

Makes you wonder if it’s worth having a ceramic PPF film fitted to give much better stone chip protection.

I have lost two screens on my XJ to unrepairable chips / cracks. And plan to have the latest replacement being fitted next week fitted with PPF.

I'm liking that certainly seems the way forward unless your a windscreen installer.

Looks amazing. I’m wondering how many organs to sell…?

Which company replaced your screen? Our Spyder might be heading that way…
I was really lucky - it was a case of phoning round - Eurospares had two windscreens and Grimaldi's is next door - and he kindly popped round to check out which was the better (neither were perfect) and bought the better one. It so happened Grimaldi's windscreen fitter was coming round the next day so MrRR (I was tied up with work) dashed down to Halstead to get it sorted (we were off on holiday four days later). I am aware windscreens can crack when being removed. I am also very particular now and as soon as I see a chip I get it sorted - there is an excellent windscreen man in the Hereford/Worcester area. My insurance company (Cherished Vehicles) was also exceptionally helpful with the incident as it was rather costly and they paid the full bill.

Id have thought it's value is in the preservation of screens that are nla. Im not sure Id fit it on my scabby example but needs must?
Insurers dont seem to be particularly switched on. Often the clause is underwritten separately, sometimes by another underwriter, and combined, from I have come to understand... If they are switched on, they max out the cover for expensive/difficult glass. Cherished Vehicles were not interested in accommodating me. Fair enough. Hard to sell the "cherished" in the name then really- YMMV. I suspect those who state its covered may start to wriggle when they see the bills - I hope I dont have to find out (again)
