OK just to clarify for the return journey. If we book option 1, we decide on one return date and time which is a majority vote, or just pick one at random. Those that can make that ferry pay no more, those that do not, pay the extra for a single return Calais-Dover, or wherever..!!
Option 2 you come back when you want Calais - Dover, nothing more to pay..!!

Enzo, you can come back when you want, but if we go ffor option 1 and the return date is decided as say Wednesday 24th, or Thursday 25th, then those that do not come back on that particular day and time will pay the extra single journey..!!

Let's bump this forward:

OK I have heard back from P&O and DFDS:

1. P&O will honour the offer originally made and that is by far the cheapest option, but we have to decide on a return date and if we don't make it, pay the extra.
2. The other P&O option is the open ended return as previously advised and with all the add ons included.
3. DFDS will offer a 10% discount off the "Economy" fare, not the Flexi, but they don't seem to have Priority, or VIP Lounge on the sailing we want and that would come out as a basic fare of £63 Return..!!

So it's up to everybody what we decide on, if you want to vote we can then go for a majority.

1. £ 62.00 Fixed return with everything
2. £171.20 Open return with everything
3. £ 63.00 Basic DFDS ferry with nothing.
4. £110.00 DFDS Flexi Fare with nothing.

For those doing the track session in the afternoon on the Saturday 20th, it will probably mean that they (we) won't leave Modena until the Sunday morning (21st) at the earliest. Allowing 3 days to travel back to Calais and catching the ferry on the following morning, that would make the ferry trip back on the 24th. I probably ought to get back home for the weekend, so I'm probably looking to travel back on a ferry on 24th, 25th, or 26th.

I just meant Sunday at the earliest, as some people may want to stay longer and extend the holiday.

OK mate, some are staying on in Modena I think and rest are moving off to do journey home, or lakes, or passes that have not done them already..!!

Option 1 would suit me, at least if I have a fixed return date I can set the correct out of office!
However if option 2 makes life easier with the bookings that's not a issue for me either.

Robert, DFDS will offer a multi trip booking for groups of 6 and more for £50 return, Dover to Callais with unlimited date changes.

This is the system I use for Le Mans and it works very well. Basically you can rock up and they will put you on the next available ferry.

Hi Matt,

I will contact them again and see what they can offer on the Flexi Ticket, they have already said they do not offer discounts on that fare, but I will delve a bit deeper and see where we get to. DFDS do not appear to have any of the frills, you board with everybody else and eat in the self serve, so it's cheap for a reason so to speak..!! Let me look in to it..??

Andyk has just posted a picture of my car in the background on another thread and a thought has occurred to me.....

Disclaimer - anyone travelling in the same convoy as myself to Modena cannot blame me should they be pulled over by the police. The colour of my car cannot be blamed for attracting unwanted attention by the gendarmes, polizia or polizei. :firing10:

We need to have confirmed lists of who wants what, otherwise you could be on your own looking for hotels etc.

I am about to confirm Ferry & Hotels for the names listed so far, any other interest, or are you doing your own thing, if you are not in, you are not on..??
