Paul,
Really sorry to hear that, what a shame..!! Of course I will try and re-allocate the room..!! Thanks for letting me know in good time..!!
Enzo,
I already have you down for a twin, do you want to change that to a double then..?? Hold off on payments, we are deciding on that at a meeting shortly..!!
Roger,
We are having a meeting in the near future to decide on routes and therefore where we would stay on the route down..!! For coming home it is up to who wants to do what, as splinter groups want to do different things and come back different ways and times..!! We may decide on one convoy back for those that want to join it and sort out a route for that also..!! TBA

Folks

If you don't already have a European travel kit (you'll need one) you may be interested in the one below, although you will have to add to it to conform to the latest regs as you do with many kits that are on the market. I know that cheaper ones are available, but this one is branded throughout and comes in a canvas 'Maserati' bag. The price is way below the original retail, and although it's not cheap in the true sense I was quite impressed with the one I received this week.

Good call Phil. I was going to ask if any of the regular continental drivers could post a list of what we should take re regulations etc.

I take:
1 x warning triangle in the boot
2 x hi-viz jackets in the cabin (you may want to take 4 if you have a 4-seater)
1 x indicator bulb
1 x dipped beam bulb
2 x breathalyser tubes (no one seems sure if this is required in France, including French police, but at £2 for a pack I'd rather not risk it)
Comprehensive insurance that covers Europe
AA international breakdown cover

When I go to France, I would add:

First Aid kit
Fire extinguisher

In fact I have these in the car all the time, we are slack here in the UK legally.

Yep, agree with all that, my first aid kit is out of my my old 1980 merc! Still unused, I also take a second triangle as I'm sure some EU countries require this.
