Cheap alternatives to the Miura...... I have owned both of them. I had an Alfa Romeo Montreal which was surprisingly very reliable and a Marcos fitted with Volvo 3 litre V6 engine. This was one of the best cars for fun I have ever owned and got more looks than a nun walking down the street with her knickers down. In the 60's the Marcos was the car to be seen in down the Kings Road.........much more so than the E Type which was as common as muck

Oddly enough, a good friend of mine has just sold his Orange Miura... and bought a red V6 Marcos :) £250k for the Lambo and £15k for the Marcos, he's actually happy as he hadn't used the Miura in years, just didn't trust it. 180 miles he did in it last year, just driving it to be serviced and back (£4k service bill!)

Our Marcos' now live together down near Goodwood, looking forward to a few runs over the summer. Mine's a 4.6 V8 roadster, a one off, whereas his is a red coupe as pictured above.

Great little cars Marcos were......shame Jem Marsh couldn't make it a commercial success.......went like all the other small car manufacturers of the era like TVR..........Morgan lives on though

Roberto has almost finished rebuilding a Miura after around a year in his workshop. He expects to fire up over the next couple of weeks.
After seeing it in various stages of the rebuild I think I'll sadly miss seeing the finished article before he ships it back to it's owner.

...the year I was born!

oooooooops what I meant to say is that I inherited a lot of money when I was 5.......I had always loved the Marcos when I was a little boy and instructed the executor to buy the Marcos on my behalf. It was kept in storeage for 12 years until I was 17 and passed my test.............as we all know I am only 12 years older than Matt :)
