Monte Carlo or Bust...

Tough one about the van... But a story for James to tell. A Renault 4 van, driving rain, a mountain pass and an overtake do not bedfellows make...

Weather was awful but brightened up Sunday so I got lucky (as not leaving with the group) and did the coast road to Monte Carlo, parked outside the casino and had lunch at the Cafe de Paris. Box ticked :)

Weather better up north so far, lovely sunny drive after lunch yesterday with the roof down. But it's rained in the right, there's always a storm chasing us!!

Great food and wine everyday but I'll be glad to be home, my body needs a break!

Just some notes about the Monte Carlo weekend:

I was asked several times by members of the crew, if i was having a good time, feeling ok etc..

First of all, you know, it was a strange thing to be for the first time with people from another country, without someone speaking my mother language. If i was with my -let's say- girlfriend, i would definately feel more comfortable, and she would fill in the 'gaps' when i was not involved in a conversation.

Second, my coupe was terribly missing. My trip would have been completely different.

These were the two negative things. But the rest is positive. I'm glad that i met with the people i talk almost every day, and you made me feel very comfortable, especially the guys i talked most of the time, like Rob, Miles and James. Unfortunately i didn;t talk much with Frank and Lewis, this will definately happen in the next trip.
Bernie, Linda and Glenis are amazing people, believe it or not, they all seem to have some greek tamperament inside! Again, hadn;t had the chance to talk much with Sarah, as happened with Lewis.
You all appreciated the fact that i was with you, despite my job's chagning of plans, which made me happy.

Sometimes you were speaking so fast that i couldn't follow you, but that's normal, cause English is not my mother language...I can remember on Friday at the gourmet resto, the last thing i remember was the trident tatoo on the back and all the spider things...!!Got lost later on!

What i liked is that you drink much, but do not lose control. I do the same, but i am not used to drinking more than 2-3 beers per time...hehehehehe There is every person's upper point, where drinks make you happy.

I met a girl on my way back to Greece (good news!).

You guys seem to enjoy your life, while on vacation...Loved it!

The most important thing i gained on the MC weekend, apart from all of you guys, was that i had the chance to be on my own and think. I'm having several changes in my personal and professional life, so these two days were the best way to see how things will work for my in the future. You won't imagine how helpful this was.

Liked the French people. Loved all the women, from the yougest to the oldest: They were all beautiful, they know how to dress, they know how to behave. Greek women are not this way.Definately... Talked with an ex girlfriend today, who has lived in France for 13 years, and told me that i was totally right about how people behave in France vs in GR. Will be missing this, and this could be a serious reason i would leave GR to move to another country.

Didn't like the traffic in Nice and in MC as well...But i loved the promenade, the coast route from Nice to MC, the Italian dinner in MC, the tiramissu....

Liked also the SLR convertible and of course the Enzo.

The taxi was very expensive though. But i should have stayed with James for a couple of hours in MC on the casino night: I found a great club!!! Would have met lots of nice chicks in there hehehehehe!

I was surprised with how you seem to love my country. A SM meet should definately take place here sometime...!You got it!

Thank you for everything..really...

Hi Guys,
Got back at 10.15pm and my dog tried to rape me??? I guess he missed me.
Even though the weather was not the best, we had a great time.
People make a trip and on that score it was perfect and a great laugh.
Driving got tricky at times but the hill racing was brill', Miles did test my skill,
but I think I passed!!!
I will sort pic's out shortly, can't wait for the next one??
Cheers
Robert
