First of all, Happy new year to you all
Second, I've removed my new dashboard from the car, to take a closer look at the problem
The plastic housing of another cars heater/blower housing, was compared and looks exactly the same, so my theory about the tunnel being longer does not apply.
What I HAVE noticed though, and I was quite surprised, is that on the dashboard, right under the drivers instruments (speedo, rev etc), my New dashboard is connected on top from one side to the other, and then just has a hole under there for the steering rack to pass through.
I've compared it to 2 other dashboards (off an S2 and an S3), and that section - which is actually a thin stripe - does not exist !!!
Now, they way I see it, when my dashboard was test fitted on my Sprint, that stripe would rest ON the top of the steering rack mount - therefore restricting it from getting lower.
So... if I cut that section off, then the dashboard would be able to be tilted in , and by default, move down as well, as the top mounting bolts are a steady point !
I wanted to see if anyone else has pictures of his dashboard without the speedo clusters installed, so I can be sure before I chop off the new dashboard :/
Is there anyone here who can help me with some pictures ?
Otherwise, I'll just take the plunge and go ahead
