Liz bought a 156 Sportwagon last night............It was just too good an opportunity to miss....

2.5 V6
2001 - 51 plate
80K on clock
Been in the same family since new.
Full tan leather completely unmarked wth no wear on driver seat side bolster at all.....
Tele dials
Full history from day one and just been serviced with belts.
4 brand new tryes on her
Colour- Well thats the worse bit as its a silver/green colour - Its OK though with not marks, dents and scratches.

It rare to find a 156 of this age in this condition let along a 2.5 V6 Sportswagon...........It's literally unmarked.

So how much did this lovely Italian Sportwagon cost . ............£1050....My God its worth that for the V6 engine alone.....

So two ALfa's now...Think I need to join the AA....

Congrats Andy, loved my SW they are great cars. Things to watch our for is Cambelt, Cambelt and Cambelt, but looks like you already have this covered. Rads do leak and are a pain to replace, the aircon is a bit feeble and the front wishbones go. If you hear any low speed wobble or clunking noised coming from the front, just replace all 4 and the drop links, I think you can but the set on Fleabay for about £200. They are a pain to fit but will transform the ride.

Enjoy.

cheers matt and thanks for the info....yes did make sure cam belts had been changed.....they were done 2 weeks ago. Just such a cheap car at the moment and v6 is rare in a sportwagon.

Bet it looks quite nice in the flesh Andy, a 156 V6 for £950, cant believe that is possible, sounds too good to be true. You cant get a decent condition BMW E36 3 series for that.

At that price you cant go wrong, there is no reason why the car wont last for years & years & at £950 its a bargain, i mentioned a sportwagon to the mrs for when bump is born....i think itll have to be the diesel with us though as she goes up north once a month minimum

She was thinking 2L TS Dem but then this came along......Lots of TSparks about...not many V6........Also 2.4 D is pretty rare in Sportwagon

I know the diesel is rare.....
No i agree with her, if your going to go for a petrol one it has to be the V6....
Consumption between the 2.0 & V6 is not a lot in it so good choice.....and you get that sound!!
