A while back, there was some talk of a get together for this...

If there is interest, I would be happy to do some research/get a few venues & pricing info etc,

What do you think?

Regards,

Enzo.

Hi guys

I ran one of these for the Porsche 944 Boys last september ish time.

It was on a Dyno Dynamics Rolling Road which seem to be deemed the most accurate.

Unfortunately it is up north so I am not sure how many people would be interested in a hike to the Leisure Peninsular aka The Wirral!!!
Some great pubs and shopping!!!!

Anyway it worked out around £40 a car as long as there was 10 plus vehicles.

Just thought the info is good for comparisons, although i would be happy to organise one at this venue.

Here are their details anyway:

Cheers

Would be very interested in the Surrey one Enz but would not travel up North for it. Maybe have 2? A Southern then a Northern dyno?

Maybe 2 is the way to go Matt...

I was thinking of a southern one, Essex, Kent, Surrey...

Just wanted to see if there was any interest before looking around at potential venues,

Regards,

Enzo.

I spoke to my friend who owns Surrey Rolling road.
if we get a group of 10 or more people together he's happy to do it for £35 a run.

how does that sound?

if it works i can sort a few dates out and get the wheels turning ;)

Never really understood these days...Is it a case of putting your car on a rolling road to see what BHP it has.

That is pretty much the long and the short of it. I have done it twice before once with my Impreza WR1 because Mike Wood from Prodrive was present and was willing to plug his laptop into each WR1 and double check the maps and the second time with my current (now for sale) Impreza after some engine/turbo/mapping work had been completed to see what sort of improvements had been achieved.

I can't say it is the most exciting thing in the world to do in my opinion unless you have a specific reason for putting your car on the rollers such as above. It is also with bearing in mind the stress it puts on the car......

ummm, been thinking about this...
I don't have a specific reason for wanting to go on the dyno,
would have been nice to know how many horses had escaped, but not really important to me...
as there is no tuning involved and bearing in mind the stress it puts on the car,
I will have another think before deciding whether to pursue this,
Regards,
Enzo.

Not for me..Think I would prefer to put the £35 in the fuel tank. But then life would be boring if we all liked the same.

I put my GT on a rolling road a little while back.
Rolling roads don't like auto's and so the print out looked more like a heart beat monitor than a power curve and it only made 390bhp at 5000rpm as the ECU wouldn't allow it to go over 120mph whilst the front wheels were still.
The ABS, Stability Control, suspension warning and the "take to dealer" lights all came on and stayed on after turining the ignition off and on again... I managed to fix it all with a full throttle launch, lighting up the rears and then slamming on the brakes, where upon all lights went out! Personally the highlight for me was standing next to my car doing 120mph and the sound of the V8 going through the gears was great, other than that a bit dull tbh.
