Sounds like a cracking day and in aid of the finest of causes but unfortunately I'll just have got back from the Middle East and quite likely heading to Sweden on the Monday. A 4am start to head north, regardless of worthiness, may well earn me no brownie points at all. Sorry, mate. Next year!

Anybody else want to join us? So far from this forum we have;

1) Me
2) Enzo
3) MAF
4) Frank

If so, we are leaving Morrisons at Nantwich (CW5 5SP) at 8am (remember that the clocks go back at 1am so it's more like 9am). We are then meandering our way to the EVO triangle and GYG karting (LL21 0RU) for a coffee and a bit of outdoor, sideways kart action. It would be great to see anybody who wants to come along, and don't forget your radios!

What a great day out. What we lacked in numbers we made up in quality; QP 5, new Ghibli, spyder, 911 991 GT3, V12 VantageS, derestricted R8 V10 and a 400bhp EVO VIII. Good fast driving over to the Kart track and 4 sessions on track. There was another good blast back, working through Sunday drivers. Next year we should dove-tail Ryan's Run into a forum event because I think the karting would be a great hit with the boys.

I have to say that MAFs soot-chucker didn't disgrace itself around the back roads, in fact it was pretty bloody good. I think it quite surprised MAF as well. Glad to say that the old spyder held its own against the Aston and the Porsche, which quite surprised me as well! I was probably working much harder than they were but keeping up with £150k cars is well worth the effort! Cheers Mark, you are a star.

Great day, shame the drive home was so bad - M6 and M1 were both very slow and painful.

I finally got the chance to give the Ghibli a good thrash around some superb roads across Cheshire and North Wales. I am seriously impressed with how it kept up with such esteemed machinery. The car felt really planted and quite nimble, inspiring confidence as the miles increased. Sport mode transforms the car with a much sharper throttle response and a more lively gearbox. I drove it mostly using the sequential shifter and it was great fun. This car continues to impress me!

Edit - I forgot to mention - almost 500 miles covered since last night, from 50mph average speed zones on the motorway to well into 3-figure speeds at times (on a private road) and a hoon to Wales and back banging through the revs - over 35mpg average!

Cheers mate, next year! ;)

Hooligan moment of the day must have been the arrival of the QP at the meeting point; he arrived very, very sideways with a screech of tyres that must have woken up the neighbours. A car that size drifting, is a thing of beauty!

Glad you had a good run.
Unfortunately only had this morning free so joined Leeds Supercars Meet and had an early run over to Merseyside to attend a 'cars and coffee' monthly event which we were invited too.
The only Maser in attendance, but some lovely cars, especially a 599GTB. My sort of Ferrari! Oh, and a yellow F40, that gets used! respect.

Ah, my mate Charles C in the ex Rod Stewart F40. He has, apparently, got an ASBO for drifting it around roundabouts!

He uses it through the winter as well, provided snow isn't deeper than the splitter! Btw, he has a mint, red one as well for special occasions!

Sounds like a fine and worthy thrash out, Ben. In honour of Ryan, but from 250 miles away, I made lots of noise round Suffolk. 70mph at 4k revs and then dropping a couple of gears into third and flooring it is, and will always be, an immense joy. Obviously it's a shame to not be able to accelerate beyond 75/80 - the car feels like it has so much more left in it.

Great to hear your Ghibli's shaping up well, MAF.

PS - the F40 looks the bollox in post 32.
