With a normal ticket you can park in the car park and then come in on foot. The great thing about Classic is everywhere is open to everyone including the pit garages so you will have no issue making your way over to join us.

Thanks for that Zagatoes, I'll do that then. Needless to say, if anyone hears that someone drops out, I'd love to bring a car in. Otherwise, I'll be milling round on foot.

I've been waiting on making a decision on this for too long. We were having a college reunion which has fallen apart so I'm going to come for the Sunday. I've never been before, and understand I'm too late to get my car on the inner circuit and join the parade but wondered if those of you in the know could tell me:

Can I just book a ticket, park in the car park and then come and join you all in the inner area on foot?

Would anyone happen to have a spare seat in their car for the parade?

Thanks to all in advance.

Dicky

Spare seat in the QP Dicky, and you can certainly walk around all of Silverstone Classic with an standard ticket.

I think I may have promised the passenger seat in the spyder to a forum members son, but if not taken you're welcome to join me. I'm sure there will be a seat or two around.

Although were going in the old Alfa GTV6 and not the Masser...A mates birthday treat, he's driving there and back three times!

There just might be a free spare ticket for Sunday, complete with in field parking with the Alfa boys if anyone's interested.

Hi Dicky, I see that you've had a couple of offers already, but there should be a spare seat in 'MC2' if you want to join us. I'll probably have my +1 in one seat, Catman's nephew is in another, but that still leaves a spare one. If you don't get to take one of your Masers on track then I'm sure you'll be able to 'hitch a ride' (with me or someone else) :)

Of course, happy to pay for the ticket but the infield pass would be a bonus, when are you likely to know?

Update from cousin Edwin...

Dear All,

You will be receiving your tickets and passes in the next few days, direct from Silverstone. For the racing cars and specials being delivered on the Thursday I will be sending set-up passes etc. so I will need the addresses to send them to if you have not already done so.

I need you all to arrive between 08.00 and 10.00 each day, but, the earlier the better as there are always long queues, the gates open at 07.30. DO NOT ARRIVE LATE

When you arrive please be patient with Silverstone marshals who will advise you which way to go, when you get to the infield there will be Maserati Club members with BLUE hi-viz vests to Marshal you into position. The aim is to have all the same models together.

If for any reason you are unable to come in a Maserati then you must park in the Public car park, if you do try to park in the infield Silverstone will tow it to a public car park as they did last year, so be WARNED. Plus I do not wish to have another make of car on our display. If you are trailering your Maserati you will be asked to unload it and then remove the trailer and tow vehicle to the trailer park as in previous years.

Please be understanding and patient with the club volunteers as we get you parked/lined up in the display.

Silverstone marshals will direct you for the “100 Maserati Track Parade” which is lunchtime Sunday. Do be at you car in plenty of time for the parade as we will be moving off well be lunch time.

There will be a Night Watchman employed by the club as well as the Silverstone Security to keep a watchful eye any cars left over night.

All cars/bikes can be removed from 5.00pm Sunday, but, must be removed by Monday morning at the very latest.

Thanks Drew. We'll arrive around midday on Saturday. Does that mean we can't use the infield parking on that day? Apologies, I have no idea of access to the infield once racing has started, whether there is tunnel access etc.

There is tunnel or bridge access, depending on where on the infield the Maserati club has its allotted pitch. Access while cars are racing isn't a problem, but the crowds certainly can be... From recollection of previous years, it was possible to turn up late and still drive onto the infield. I think what Edwin wants is to be able to get everyone parked up before it gets really busy - nobody wants to be a parking marshall all day...

Thanks Drew. My goal is to be there as early as possible. My challenge will be getting the family out the front door. We'd have stayed up on the Friday night but have tickets for Essex in the T20 cricket at Chelmsford on Friday evening. An early start on Saturday it must be.

Hi Drew,
It states that cars can be removed from 5pm on Sunday. I need to get away before this at 3 for a flight. Do you think there will be any issue with this?

It's not a prison, so no, there won't be any real problem unless someone parks you in. Just make sure that doesn't happen by selecting your parking spot carefully after the parade :)

The idea is to not remove the main display cars until then, but the rest of us don't really matter.
