Does anyone have any experience of driving round Silverstone,
I would like to hear your thoughts please...

DL are having a couple of drive your own Ferrari days...
one in April (which is too soon for me), on the full GP circuit (3.6miles)
and one in September (on the National circuit) which I am thinking of going to...
This circuit is 1.6 miles, but I think that is probably a long enough lap for me!

The deal includes 2 hours 20 minutes driving time with coaching from a professional instructor,
a California test drive, refreshments, lunch etc...and photos from the day.

I does Adam...kind of wish the September day was also on the full GP circuit...
but I think in terms of learning how to drive my baby, it shouldn't make too much difference...
This is some of the marketing speak they sent me...
"...The coaching is completely personal and our experienced instructors will show you how to make full use of the amazing performance that your Ferrari can deliver..."
I quite like the sound of that! :D

Well, I'm seriously thinking about it Adam...
Would be good to get some professional coaching,
and no better place than a track to stretch her legs a bit :D

Enzo..It's a must do ... I did it with Lotus many moons ago and a great experience....Beware though....once you have been there my little Llandow will feel like a go cart track.....

GP circuit ....... Either ones is worth a go ....... Going down the start finish line at full pelt just makes you feel like a true racer .... You can almost hear the roar of the crowd...

Nice idea - but they are very strict on noise, will a V12 on Tubis get through the regs? If so, it'll be pretty iconic going round Silverstone in a Ferrari V12 :)

I am going to do one of the Goodwood 105dB day this year in the DB9, same personal instruction and all that. Not cheap though...

Good point Lewis,
all they have said so far is that it is restricted to ferrari road cars only...will have to check if/what the noise restriction is...
price wise, this package comes in at £519 inc VAT

Lewis, Good wood is a great fast circuit ... Drove it in teh CSL and it was a dream. Had 150 down the back straight .... Great circuit that often over looked ...

Nice circuit, Goodwood. If I remember correctly, it was a Battle of Britain airfield that was called Westhampnett and was a relief landing ground for Tangmere. Just one of a host of circuits that sprang up from surplus airfields after the war. Or something like that.

Have been to Goodwood many times but never driven it! Would love to, though on a dry day without many cars on the track... no run off anywhere!

Silverstone is very modern and seems very safe, could really give it the beans round there.

If Malc is about, maybe he needs to sort out another forum day there :)

He did a great job with the last Goodwood ... But he did try again a little while ago and I asked for prices fo this year and its just got too expensive ...... Think it was about £6500/£7000 ......You are better off going there with a track day organiser as they seem to get cheaper prices from the big boys.

I'm a Goodwood GRRC member so can go on their private trackdays. Think I might have a punt at one or two of them this year!

Suddenly you realise the value of a £100 day out at Llandow!
