Stamford Car Show - Sunday August 30th 2015

Cracking show on The Meadows in Stamford, bit like the Cars in the Park event at Newby Hall recently.

Any takers? There were over 500 cars there last year.

Free entry to all - would be good to get a few of the local (and not so local) Maseratis there There's a bit of a drive round before the show too if you want, with reserved parking at the end of it.

It's on the big flat fields by the river, directly opposite The George where we went for dinner earlier this year. Lovely spot for a car show.

we will be there with the Spyder and the 308, Neil has just finshed detailing again but this time with protection coat so should stay clean for a while

That's excellent Robin The coating he put on the S3 and Spyder for me is just superb. Very pleased with it...

This one has crept up on me a bit and I see that the event is already fully booked for the 500 car capacity.

I may still try to pop along a little later, are there still a few of you guys planning on going along?

Stuart, I received an email from the Round Table last night, offering a place on the "30 cars only" rally, which involves a short drive around the area and reserved parking in a prime spot in the show. This in exchange for a cheque for £25, which makes it a fairly expensive burger, plaque and photo of you with your car. Still, it does mean there are spaces available for display cars - would you like the contact details? We are going to the show, but won't be driving the rally.

Just back from the briefest of visits to Stamford. We arrived and parked on the lawn at just before 2pm and it's a lovely spot in the heart of the town next to the river. But the rain was relentless and after a couple of laps and one hour later, we soggily retreated back to the GTS and trudged off home.

Drew, I didn't see you but saw that you were entered, maybe you wisely arrived & left earlier before the rain arrived.

There were 2 3200s and a 4200 however (curiously with 3 Citroens for company) but no sign of the owners - taking shelter maybe

Hopefully the sun will return for next year year's event.

Sorry not to have seen you Stuart - there was a very good reason for that though... We didn't go.

We didn't arrive back in Lincs until midnight last night, after driving back from Geneva; easy to Calais, grim from that point on, save for a pleasant brief interlude when Catman poured some coffee down our necks. When I saw the rain starting this morning, the decision was final I'm afraid. I've been to Stamford many times in the rain - I wasn't in the mood to do it again today!
