So I have bought a diesel Brera.......With my job changing and moving to Bristol the 645 was just to heavy on fuel and this diesel Brera came up that needed some love and care. It has great history with all Alfa stamps with belts etc changes on time. Mechanically she is fine...69k miles on the clock and 3 owners. There are few cosmetic bits for me to do over the coming year to get her up to standard though.

Lots of stone chips and road rash on the bonnet so that needs painting, both side skirts has road rash so needs painting and at the front of them the paint has peeled off...Wheels need a re-furb but would have always got them changed from silver to anthracite anyway. The interior is pretty good apart from the drivers side bolster that needs stitching and then needs a good detail to get rid of scratches. Also need a boot badge as it's faded......So all cosmetic although after and good wash, polish and wax from a distance she looks OK. The engine is pretty torquey and feels pretty quick....very nose heavy though. Still think they look great and I have found myself just going out to take a look at her just for the h3ll of it..Such a pretty car.....plus it has 6 months warranty which is a bonus. A good daily drive to be honest and special enough to be sat in as to not feel boring.....

Surprising what a bit of wax can do.......Close inspection shows up my description but the paint is still pretty good just the bits that have not had attention needs sorting.

Always thought these were beautifully designed cars that typified alfa. Looks a nice example Andy, enjoy!

brera was one of my top cars to buy on diesel. Congrats mate, she is beautiful. Please let me know about consumption when you have more miles on the clock. Glad you are back to Italians too.

Hi Andy, looks like you've given her the 'Andy shine'. Lovely car, drove one through 7 countries in 7 days and was very impressed. Would have one in a flash. My new job has me driving daily from Great Bookham to Goodwood and I'm surprised how thirsty the Beemer is. I've actually slowed down to try and save fuel (never thought I'd ever say that haha). Definitely not driving the Maser, I'd spend all my salary on fuel!!!
Cheers, Merrian

Nice. I like that. Been thinking about upgrading my Alfa GT for a Brera, but now I've remapped and de-catted it it goes like a stink. So not so sure.
What sort of mpg do you get with them? I imagine the GT is better as it's probably a bit lighter.

Lovely looking Alfa.
Considered one as a company car until I saw the leg room in the back...what, back seat passengers have legs?!

Congrats Andy.

Such a stunning car for the money, even after all these years.

Used to have the V6 and absolutely loved it. (Didn't like the fuel economy though).

One of the most beautiful designs in the Alfa back history for mine. And very exclusive. Just hardly see them here in Sydney, Australia at least.

Would imagine so...Think I will need to re-map to get the best out of her Geoff.

It was by showing Mrs MLC a Brera that pulled her away from an Audi TT to getting an Alfa, I love the look of them, have done since they came out. Unfortunately I got the 4200 instead. The top of the range V6 are almost as heavy on fuel too.
