Life mate did 10,000 kilometers in my old 4.6 Range Rover here in the heat of the NZ summer travelling around and work commute trouble free.
Start the job here in Auckland for Maserati and she blows the gaskets in the first couple of weeks.
Dirty protest I reckon for moving up to the big smoke but she is 20 years old.
All good now for another 20 years.

There is that PHil...Once done that should see her right........Always thought you would see warning signs as I did in the M3...car getting hot etc....nut temp in the Alfa has been fine unless the temp gauge was broken of course.......Saying that I did wonder as I got close to home why I had more turbo lag than usual.....

If its starting to fail or lift you get the warning signs. Getting hot and oil in the water and vice versa and running rough. If its a complete failure you won't get any warning. You'll be on the hard shoulder before you realise anything isn't quite right.

Yep, hope so...Was hoping to get the wheels and some paint done on her before Brunty but that will have to wait for now...

You tend to get less warning with a turbo, wants a weakness starts the turbo pressure finds its way through very quickly. When the Q4 blew got a slight bit of turbo lag and then a little misfire and then a world of white smoke as it catastrophically blew.

Alfas love them but when they bite they tend to in style

Andy, yep thats how it felt...Driving down the motorway there was turbo lag.....No smoke though..Or may have been but didn't see any. Ah well...Was right ****** off about it on the day but calm down now....
