Back to the good old days! This is why I always had the cars I keep in France on GB plates for this reason, which ended a few years back ans since then I must have had an average of 3 fines a year.On the 'positive' side for all you going abroad to the EU; The agreement to share details of owners caught breaking the speed limits is now at an end.
Now before you get too excited if you are physically stopped, you are still busted, but this will end the receipt of a fine post the event landing on your carpet.
Be aware that this also extends to this side of the water too.
I think you'll find it's Moderateur...Blimey Phil, are you a moderator of European travel as well now?
I didn't even get a whistle. It's a sh!t job.Make them a moderator and they think they 're Hitler. Did Matt issue you with a uniform with a cap as well Phil ?

Generally I see this as a benefit for us, it won't stop the 'fish in a barrel' setups on the motorways into Calais etc. but as far as I know I don't think they were ever able to enforce it from UK to Europe because of the way vehicles are registered over there as opposed to driver details here?
They have their own card machines now.Perhaps in this case we can expect an even more 'escort you to the cashpoint, sir', kind of approach.

Did you get a badge?
But I bet the pay is good

Make sure you pay by card then as that cannot be pocketed, on the Viva Espania trip we all had adequate cash on us but elected to pay by card much to the chaps disappointment. Not saying that any continental coppers are anything but straight, but maybe just not quite so good at filing the counter copies of those tickets....
