Hi Ed, to answer question 3, you carry a plastic bag large enough to fit the flat tyre. I got one from Costco when I bought tyres there. Then you move the passenger seat to full forward position and try to place said plastic bag full of tyre and rim into the back seat.Hey Loz, when I got my spyder, I looked for a spare tire. I found out 1. they are rare, 2. you can't get replacement tires, 3. what do you do with the full size tire you take off the car? I abandoned my search. If you find an alternative, let us know, Thanks Ed
Would also like to know how easy to deflate, as would like to check what I am carrying around is still serviceable. Reports of them not sealing on the rim when inflated and rubber degradation etc.Hi Ed, to answer question 3, you carry a plastic bag large enough to fit the flat tyre. Next problem not mentioned is deflating the space saver afterwards to the same size to refit in the boot cavity.
I was able to buy a space saver on eBay in Australia 3 years ago from a guy in Melbourne who traded in his car but forgot to put the spare in.
No one else bid, so it was a complete bargain. I will only use for interstate travel due to the deflating issue. If I get a flat locally, I've got 2 spare sets of GS wheels I can use.
Anyone had success getting the space saver to return to original shape?

When I improvised mine using a Merc SL spacesaver (same tyre), the kids where much younger and more of a concern should we be stranded. Less so now, but still feel any spare wheel is better than nothing!
Not tried, and don't use a space saver to test, but am wondering if rigging up a basic vacuum pack machine would work.Anyone had success getting the space saver to return to original shape?
